Just heard back from Mildred, my tickets &c. will be in the post tomorrow. She appeared to suggest that others may do so too.

I got the same email - I knew I had signed up and was OK because i emailed Mildred last week cause i did not know if the form on Julian's website worked as i had issues last year, and got the OK from her then, still thankful for the email.

Glory hunter, not me mate! I work overseas and have to do shiftwork on a 24/7 pattern.
I have always made an effort to get time off from my work to support the whole weekend, but very occasionally it is not possible. Mildred is aware of my genuine
reason for not being fully available for the next two MSVR meetings, but has turned me down.
Other people will let the club down by not turning up.
So I will be stuck on the wrong side of the fence by means of another marshals guest ticket.

See you all there. Maybe I'll win another pair of the Ten Tenths boxer shorts eh Pumpkin!!!
What type of flooring will we see this year or is that surprise saved for the GP?

I'm afraid there'll be a caravan at the F1 this year, but we may still have a gazeebo too!
Anyway at the A1 there'll be a lovely blend of oak laminate for the kitchen area with a new, light carpet for the lounge. I'll have to bring mats for shoes to be removed too.
Looking into the lighting and curtains situation too

Mike Kelly 1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sadly Team Kelly will not be at the A1GP meeting this year. Tom's leg is healing nicely but he hasn't got enough strength in it to stand for two days . I asked him about flagging but he wants to do more incident work. looks like I've got another week end free to catch up on all those programmes I've taped over the last few weeks. Stay safe everyone and I'll look out for you on TV!

Mildred always goes out of her way to try and help those who are only able to do a certain number of days, but you have to remember she, like us, is a volunteer and can only do as she is instructed by MSV or whichever club's hat she is wearing that week.

It is always the case that with the large meetings which are oversubscribed preference is given to those marshals who can work all days. The BARC have to do the same for the FOS and Revival meetings as do the MSA for the BGP.

Comments such as the one above only serve to upset Mildred as she is powerless to help and as I am sure you will all agree, she does a huge amount for marshals with little of no thanks.

I'll have nothing bad said about Mildred. She's fantastic and I hope everyone going to every event she's at will treat her so!

I fully support Mildred in all her efforts, and certainly never layed the blame on her.
I was simply responding the an earlier question of "had I made Mildred aware of my reasons". Mildred no doubt passed my email to the Club concerned as she always works so hard at accomodating everyone.
The point that I was trying to make is that I am being penalised for my honesty, at times people put in for two/three days of a meeting, but let clubs down.

You're right and, what's worse, is that people let the club down and don't even bother to tell Mildred they are not coming, and these people should be ashamed. They are being totally disrespectful to Mildred (and others) after all the work they put in and you could be endangering you're fellow marshals. as there may not be enough time to adjust the post numbers before the meeting starts and less marshals means more risk.
As for being told you're not required, I think you're just unlucky, this time.

Ok then, everyone agreed Mildred is a star...not everyone is able to do all three days...but everyone should let Mildred know if they cannot attend a day they are down to.

Now onto other important issues... The Weather for the London region.
Looks wet Mon, Tue, Thur, but nice on Wed and then Friday onwards looks drier.

Hi

Do we have a contact for Mildred, I just want to get confirmation whether I am going or not. So if not I can put my name down for elsewhere.

Thanks

I used the bh marshals address, which I found on the msvr website. Just FYI, there were some more tickets &c going in the post on Friday, so I'd suggest that you at least wait until your postie has been, today, before getting in touch.

There will always be times when we can't make meetings at short notice, but there are always contact numbers for letting people know, even as late as on the morning of a meeting. I beleive BARC operate a "3 strikes & you're out" policy perhaps this should be adopted by all the organising clubs & hopefully it will make life easier for all those that do turn up.
