You would think so, however its happened in the past, Grand Prix 4 came out in 2002 and featured the 2001 season.

Obizzz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The initial release is for PC and any further releases will be for "next-gen" consoles so don't expect PS2/Xbox-versions

probably not allowed to tell what season yet so I won't

GTR2 is going to be 2005 season so I wouldn't be surprised if WTCC is the same.

Also IMO it's a bit early to be predicting a PS3 version, I think we'll have to wait for WTCC 2 to see that one. Don't forget this is still a fairly young company, so a conversion to XBOX 360 will probably take up all their spare time in-between preparing to start again on WTCC 2.

Nope, GTR2 features 2003 and 2004.

Re: the PS3; latest news is that it'll be released around christmas in Japan, and in 2007 in the rest of the world. So its a bit early for a small studio like us to do anything for that one, especially considering that Sony will want their Gran Turismo title out first without too much competition.

Getting a PC spec' WTCC game to Xbox360 wouldn't take as much work as "converting" it to PS3, right?

Ah yes, it's the inclusion of the MC-12's halfway through 2004 which keeps confusing me.

I'm assuming that WTCC will use the gMotor 2 engine. Am I correct, or are you guys not allowed to say?

Depends if they actually want to see the game sell well.

PC games are not big sellers, hence the expansion to next gen consoles. And if you're releasing games on consoles PS3 will be the market leader.

PS3 will have a worldwide release in November, US, Japan and Europe.

I also wouldn't expect GT5 to be released until Christmas 2007 at the earliest.

Don't you think it's a bit early to claim PS3 as a market leader? It's delayed well over a year now, it's probably going to cost more than the 360 as it's blu-ray and if not Sony will make a loss on each console they sell. On top of that the XBOX360 has a headstart of a year by then, including a wider game lineup by then. So I'd say the battle ain't decided at all yet.

So long as they do justice to Macau I don't really care which format it gets released on. Infact, Macau is probably the only reason I'll end up buying the game.

The current most powerful PC graphics card the ATi X1900 is about on par with the XBOX360 in terms of hardware.

But I imagine the PS3 will be maybe slightly more powerful still. I am guessing perhaps R600 - levels of performance.

On a side note, do Simbin developers sleep in with Nvidia, as I don't own any of their games I do not know.
I'm so sick of Nvidia signing "exclusive deals" with software develpers in order to "optimise" the game for Nvidia hardware because they know they can't compete with ATi on equal terms.

I don't think there's much doubt PS3 will be the market leader.

Stores ion the UK already have lists running into the thousands to get on the 'pre-order' list!

Microsoft are already planning a relaunch in Japan as the consoles flopped so badly in that market.

The problem with the PC is 5-10% of owners may have cutteing edge technology, the rest are running 2 year old+ PC's.

Games on consoles can be optimised more effectively.

Just look how great GT4 looks on the 6 year old PS2.

The power of marketing. NVidia doesn't cooperate with developers, they cooperate with marketeers. They never had contact with the developers
