Jesper OH should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
#15

Division: division 1 (1001-1600 cc)
Car: Honda Civic (AT)
Homologation: A5268

Results
R1 / 1986.03.23 / Nishi Nippon / 3. – 1.
R2 / 1986.07.27 / Sugo / -

R5 / 1986.11.09 / Fuji / DNF
R6 / 1986.11.30 / Suzuka / DNF

My comments:
1) A class winn and third o/a in the opening round and then virtually nothing for the rest of the year – what happened?
2) Infinite/infinity is the translation, but I remember Endless as a team/sponsor name from other branches of Japanese motor sport, so this is likely the name for this entry.

My comments:
1) Late season sister team to the #67 Yamato Civic, I guess.
2) Round 4 entry as Yamato Civic II wondered me for a while, since there was only one generation of Group A Civics around. Then thought the thought that the name actually means the second Watanabe Civic!

Jesper - Grice won the '86 AGP support race in pretty scrappy fashion, he spun just after taking the lead as you say, and only really won when the Fury Skyline hit problems, making a desperate pass at the end of Wakefield Rd to take the lead even though Fury was ailing...

It was.

Bailey ran it at the Amaroo opener of the 1986 ATCC (plain white car), before running the last few rounds as well (full Chickadee livery), before running the Surfers Paradise AEC, Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000 & AGP race.

Bailey then pretty much gave driving away. I saw the car at Oran Park in the 90s in a Sports Sedan race, i think driven by his son, and still in the Bathurst-winning livery.

The 1986 AGP was held two weeks before Mt Fuji. Would it be safe to assume the Grice Mt Fuji car is the one he ran at Adelaide??

My comments:
When Tom Walkinshaw brought the Jaguars to Japan, he also had a Vitesse in the luggage. Regular ETCC driver Jeff Allam partnered by Suguru Akaike, who would be the main driver for ARJ in 1987.
A 1985/86 Bastos car I think- I have a vague recollection that it raced at Fuji in basically Bastos colours, with ARJ signwriting etc. Later driven by Eje Elgh amongst others sharing with Akaike.
Some pics of it in later AJR paintschemes appeared in the Rover thread

The Mt Fuji Intertec 500 clashed with the Pepsi 250 at Oran Park, final round of the Australian Endurance Championship. Brock/Moffat raced in Japan, while John Harvey drove at Oran Park.
One of the HDT cars used in Europe (a second car appeared at Spa) was still in Europe as late as September, as it appeared as the GM DealerSport Cleland/Woodman entry at the TT. Wonder which car went to Japan....?

A little earlier I asked if the Brock VK was left in Japan running with a Japanese crew in 1987. If that was the case would this mean the Fuji '86 car old or new?

Jesper OH should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The final entries - as far as I can tell - of the 1986 AJTCC are now ready. Its mainly Toyota Corolla entries with a lot of ???? regarding specific models:
AE82 / A5274 - the FWD three door hatch back also referred to as FX
AE86 / A5179 - the RWD two door sedan.
AE86 / A5180 - the RWD three door coupe.
AE86 / A5275 - the RWD two door sedan with pop up head lights called the Trueno
I have asked the questions regarding model in the specific entries.

But first an update of car #9 which I discovered had some info missing in my original post.

R6 / 1986.11.30 / Suzuka / 22. – 2. retired at the finish, but classified (driver 1, 3 – the Bridgestone files also include driver 2 for this result.)

My comments:
A second Weds Sport entry alongside #18.
The Bridgestone files is also the source of this being an EP71 Turbo rather than just a normally aspirated version.
Rounds 1 to 3 it was normally aspirated, unknown for round 4 and finally Turbo in rounds 5 and 6.

This might also be the #86 entry from the final round, but unknown so I have kept the two apart.

Post #169 should be pictorial evidence – at least only in 1986 a #8 Corolla and a #72 Skyline was running, telling of a Volk Racing entry.

Famous Trampio entry from previous year, but still no info on who was behind this team.

Some kind of Toyota connected entry?
Eje Elgh was part of the team for three races obviously with different spelling each time, so driver 5, 6 and 7 the one and only.

The Advan Corolla entry of Keiichi Tsuchiya’s Tsuchiya Engineering to complete the presentation.
Didn’t realise that it had become an AE82 already by stage.

Only Family names given at round 3 a Tsukuba, so even less than normal to go by from here.
