Yes, Dumas and Bernhard are spearheading the LMP1 development, so I suppose much of their time will be taken up testing.

What's up with Long not being part of the lineup? Is he being phased out as works driver or something?

He's still on the roster, but he'll be racing in Grand-Am this year I believe. Maybe he'll be staying on the GT side of things in the unified series next year, I'm not sure he did that well in the RS Spyder to be considered for the LMP1 programme, bu he's still damn good with the GT cars.

Edit: it doesn't specifically say that they are racing at Sebring. Are they? |

Manthey has always worked with Porsche to develope GT3 cars: since the 996 to the 991, Manthey has always developed the cars, and led it to their racing debut.
I think they will do great things this year! Great drivers, official support, great car... Le Mans and WEC will be a great battlefield for this "new" team. 2013 will be a spectacular season! |

Searching for Sebring winter test videos is always a pain... Lots of test-drive videos of a particular awful second-hand car come up in the results.

Porsche is going to race the cars in WEC and Le Mans with its works team, to make experience for 2014 LMP1 challenge. I don't think they would invest so much on a simple GTE car... 911 is the core of the Porsche motorsport business, but LMP1 will bring to Porsche the most important wins and advertising...

True, but the costs of running a top flight GTE team'll be a lot less then the development and running of a full blown LMP assault so I think Porsche will go the distance to show the world that 'ye good ol' 911' is still the GT car to beat... |

http://endurance-info.com/version2/a...nce-16594.html reports that Manthey will test with 991 GTE car after Sebring and that they will also participate in the official WEC pre-season testing at Paul Ricard at the end of the month.

It'd be awesome if they ran that livery but it wont happen so I'll watch 1997/8 Le Mans again and enjoy the memories

Finally... tomorrow new 911 GT3 RSR (991) will be unveiled on the Paul Ricard track. I cannot wait the moment! I think I will not sleep tonight! Drivers are the best in class, and I think the car will be in WEC to win. I hope great days for Porsche!

Yes. In 2013 GT3 RSR will use the same engine step of the last 997 version. They are testing the new one, but will be launched in 2014 for works and customer teams. They say they won't risk any mechanical failure in 2013, in Le Mans and WEC. Since 2014 we will see the GT3 RSR with new engine and a new aero-package (maybe based upon the new GT3 RS).
