thunderbolt should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rule change will still proceed
http://www.v8supercar.com.au/content...still_proceed/

Quote:
The rule allowed V8 Supercar technical staff and other V8 team members to inspect these parts during an open scrutiny session.
The definition of transparency components was changed so that any V8 Supercar team – via the V8 Supercar Technical Department – could access the supplier, cost and technical specifications of all transparency components.

What are you trying to say - do you believe in protecting intellectual property or not?

Try yes or no !!!
Ahh Cavy, Is WP a manufacturer racing a car? THATS A BIG NO

Is WP a supplier? THATS A BIG YES

IF you ran the category, would you want it to be level playing field? Yes or No

If you supply componenents that are within the specs, then you have nothing to worry about.
If you run to court, then you shall cast doubt. If you have nothing to hide, then let it be inspected.

I say again, protect yours but also, allow independent inspection to confirm that it is within the regs. If you cannot do this, then suspicion creeps in.

does that put it into perspective?

apologies above

My apology for the double post above.

My understanding of the result of the court action is that the intellectual property associated with the manufacture is protected whereas the technical specs are shared.

Given V8 Supercars are rewording the rule, Walkinshaw Performance appear justified in taking the court action.
