Hasn't Win recently been honoured by the Group C/GTP club for his contributions to the series and sportscar racing in general.

It would be great if Win could get involved in helping to run the series as he has a great passion for the cars, and I am sure has excellent connections in this field.

Thank you Adam. I remember now...

Win is really someone in sportscars... I hope he could make it in a specially equipped car, even if he couldn't fight on the track...

I remember he had an accident during 1987 Le Mans race.
There is an interview in the 1987 annual ( I hope I translate correctly). It happened at 02h46 AM :
"I was approaching the Hunaudières curve at about 330 km/h when the rear-right tyre exploded. The car (Jaguar XJR8) turned onto the right barriers before somersaulting several times.
I felt like staying a long moment in the air before feeling my helmet scraping the track.
The car had disintigrated except for the central cell."
He got out of the car himself.

Not according to DSC a couple of days ago- think they described it as 'heavily damaged', and said it wouldn't be at LM

It needed a new carbon pedalbox to be made, but everything else they had spares of. Don't know if the driver would be mended in time though.

It needs either very extensive repaires to the tub or a new tub. It won't be making an appearance at LeMans but should be back out later in ther year.

After having along chat with Win several months ago and before the press got to here of his potential drive, he hopes to be driving Jack Sears Austin Westminster at Goodwin this year. Not a Jag MK11.

Its a fabulous place - Trust me!!

BTW - spoke to Paul Whight at the Weekend - The news on both him and the car is good - his ankle injury is healing well and he plans to be out in a GT car very soon!

The Aston was pretty much destroyed ahead of the footbox. It is being rebuilt though so we should see he out again in the future.

They should be racing as most of these cars and drivers have been racing in a Group C series for a couple of years. One or two might cruise, but I expect the rest to be going for it - should be a lot of fun!
