Three Audi RS5s for Morbidelli, Kristoffersson and Schöffler

There will be three all-new Audi RS5s in the Superstars Series this year for Gianni Morbidelli, Johan Kristoffersson and Thomas Schöffler.
"I am really happy that we have the new car and we will be on track in the first week of March," said Morbidelli.
Audi Sport Italia is behind the main effort of the programme, but the German team MTM and the Swedish team Kristoffersson Motorsport (KMS) will maintain two of the cars.

MTM is going to support Schöffler's Audi RS5, an 18-year-old German who previously has driven in the German Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup.

KMS will run Kristoffersson's car, a Swede who took part in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship last year as well as the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia where he finished second.

The 2012 Superstars Series starts on the 1st of April at Monza.

at Franciacorta Team Ferlito has tested some upgrades on their Jaguar,Solaris has tested again their renewed Chevy and Romeo Ferraris has tested Gabbiani,Kouzkin,Andrea Larini and the 17-years-old Boffo.

Next Thursday Superstars Series teams will test their cars and drivers at Monza,while the next day,on Friday,the 2012 season will be launched during a press conference of FG Group in Milano.

some teams tested their cars and drivers at Monza today.Test line up has been this:
Max Pigoli with Ferlito Motors (Jaguar),Cesari and Calamia with Swiss Team (Maserati),Mugelli and Liuzzi with CAAL Racing(Mercedes),Boffo and Andrea Larini with Romeo Ferraris(Mercedes),Armetta and Caldarola with Roma Racing Team(Mercedes),Schoffler with Audi,As I understood there were also Sini with the Chevy Lumina of Solaris Motorsport.

Tomorrow the 2012 season will be launched in Milan.

The challenge this year will be really hard for all. It would be nice to see Tonio in Superstars. For him the F1 chapter seems to be permanently closed.

I love the idea of Super Stars and they certainly seem to be getting some big names on board and I assume some of these drivers are getting paid so there must be some money going into it. Over here its virtually unknown, does it draw big crowds in mainland Europe, particularly Italy?

Pigoli, a SUPERSTARS veteran who brought the Jaguar banner to their maiden title back in 2006, will be joined by car and powerboat racer Gabbiani, who had made his debut for the team in last December's Motor Show exhibition event in Bologna.

Fans will be able to follow the two races, starting on Sunday at 11:15 and 16:15 thanks to the wide live and tape-delayed TV coverage of SUPERSTARS, while thousands of supporters are expected on-track thanks to the FREETICKET campaign.

Gian Maria Gabbiani:

"This one has been a season of great surprises so far for me. First it came the Class 1 Powerboat debut at Doha, then this sensational new chance in Superstars. The car has great potential especially on the really fast tracks like Monza, and I'm looking forward to use the new Hankook tires, which have proved great in testing. The car is the same I used at MotorShow, but this time in a much more suitable environment: I can't wait to race the Motorola Jaguar!"

Now I know very little about superstars...
But I rather like the look of that!

Might have to see if I can see some races..
