if you fit a VAUXHALL red top you go class A, but if you were fit say a 2.0 FORD zetec you would end up in class c |

Eh? red top would give the same power to weight ratio for less £££££ than a zetec/duratec. Is ford connected to Honda in anyway?? I could go s2000 power

i suppose if he put his pistons in a lathe and rubbed them down a bit and smereed some chemical metal on the bores to make his engine under 2.0 then he could play in class D |

[QUOTE=graham bahr;2580387]i wouldnt off said so, afterall hes just come out of the 500+bhp rick may class,
Agreed on that one, but wouldnt it be more difficult for him to finish 6th overall in the championship in a class with only 2 or 3 regular runners. But on the other hand maybe the new class c will open doors for other cars to enter that fit just right |

So to recap motorsport news have not reported the new class structure correctly or accuratley?
Why mess about with a class structure that was working well if the committe of the dmn were worried about class domination they already had the ability to impose extra weight to be carried. Which could have been a good equalizer, in fact why it not been used this year? Why also have the committee used the media to break the news. |

Graham can you comment on intermarque for next year?
Are the classes changing or staying as they are now? Will Intermarque class E still run with tin tops? |

To me it does seem like some form of weight limit would have been easier and fairer. In Classic Thunder (and the rest of the CTCRC series) we use a capacity based weight limit to even things up a bit and help prevent 'oddities' running away with things.

as for running with tintops that depends on grid sizes etc etc not the regulations |

Doh! You're quite right 1480cc +50% =2220cc = class C. I got confused by the "moved up a class" description.

Perhaps I should made it clearer;I should of said it's in Grahams' earlier post! Graham is the technical officer aswell as the drivers' rep and a member of the commitee, the same commitee would of decided on the final regs following MSA guidelines. As technical officer he has to tell us the competitor what is legal, which class our cars go in and generally do the sums to work out engine capacities etc.
At the end of the day there will always be someone who's not happy when regulations change, the answer for them is to either modify their cars within the new regs or look elsewhere for a championship that offers what they personally want from said championship. |

ok that leaves me with a bit of a problem copper ,
1. change engine , with a lot of extra expence , which was not supposed to happen at this level of motorsport .. 2. race as is in class C on me own (or with bill). 3. tell fibs and race in class D till i get caught out.. 4. race some place else that has cars of a similar spec !! 5. dont race in 2010 and wait till the rules change again. 6. sell the car and buy some darts and go to the pub( oops they've all closed down ). decisions decisions.......... |
