correction frame Stretched 5"
Hey Brian & Paul, Okay have some updates, the frame is stretched 5" inches not 5.5 as I originally posted. total Wheelbase is 95". Next, Paul do you know where you heard or read that info? believe I've read his movie car is on display in England or a museum. Mine is supposed to be one of two lengthened and definitely the key to its identity.. Someone will know exactly who did it and for whom! Next, Recently while breaking down the braking system the front master is clearly stamped "Made in Australia"! The rear master is guirling as well as the clutch n slave. I was delighted to see this as its just one more piece to the puzzle.. Please let me know if you can remember where you read that info, as ive spent many hours searching on google and destined for many more! Thanks again for your interest
Regards Blake Chesbro |

The note about a Jim Russell Lotus being lengthened was in the biography 'The Jim Russell Story' by Norman Greenway, I'll find the reference tomorrow.

Lotus 22 seeking information
Hi . I have recently bought a Lotus 22, frame number 22/42, and I am wondering if anyone can shed light on it's history. In 1962 it was an Ian Walker team car. From 1963 to 1967 it was hillclimbed by Peter Boshier-Jones. Then it seemed to vanish until 1985, when Alan Baillie raced it, before passing it on to Walter Nef.
The original paint was Ian Walker yellow, so it would have been noticeable if it was used. I would also be very interested if anyone can figure out a link between Progress Chassis frame numbers and Lotus chassis numbers . thanks Jeremy |
