If you ignore Matteo Bobbi, he is the best driver of #1 BMS Scuderia Italia.

Hmmm, in GT he has been Spanish Gt champion in 2000 with Marcos (and being faster than Euser for example with the same car), he drove for Lister in Spanish GT´s in 2001 finishing and at Spa 2002 2nd as you know (Bobby Verdon-Roe, his teammate, said De Castro had done an impressive race). In 2003 he was driving for semi-factory Seat team in Spanish GT, being leader all championship but losing title in last race with Vivancos/Gené. He was in 2003 at Spa too with Seat Toledo GT (Seat Belgium-Darro Motor) and in qualifying was only one second more slow than a JMB 550 Maranello.
This year he is current leader in Spanish GT with Burgueño driving Marcos LM600 EVO.

Any clues to the identity of the 3rd drives in the RML Saleens? That's cars Number 7 & 8?

Do you some know what is background of drivers changes in Lister works car ? Who are the new drivers ? What is with Coronel ? I think he leave/interupt connection with Lister after previous events, on his web is mentioned only ETCC race in Spa, in previous time there were mentioned GT races too.
In BMW works cars was added Pedro Lamy as fourth drivers in car no. 43 and he maybe will drive car no. 42 or will add someone another to this ?

Gregor and Ian drove for The Racers Group at Sebring and LM and drove the Ecuriew Ecosse/PK Porsche at Sebring in 2003.

They both have a background in historic racing. They've got a fair bit of experience in endurance races- as Graham said, they've both done Sebring and Le Mans, and Donaldson (an ex-rally driver before turning to racing) has done the Nurburgring 24 hours several times.

Some info on each-

Two Finns in the race now Only Markus Palttala is marked as Belgian, probably because he drives with Belgian license.

Does anyone else find the practice of listing by racing licence tiresome? I thought "Neal Cunningham (GBR)" - wonder who that is? Only to find that it is top Aussie bloke Neil Cunningham.

He lives in Belgium, maybe that's an explanation.

So Lister are running their 2nd-placed car from Spa 2002, rather than the new 2004 car? Sounds like they're aiming for a respectable finish at best....

they might be making the right decision though-the new car, with the very limited amount of racing it's had this year, may be too much of a risk in terms of reliability, and the older, 2002/3-spec car could give them a better chance of running the distance

imho it's tragic what has happened to the lister team

2002 - jcw / v d poele / wallace / de castro / bvr

2003 - jcw / coronel / kinch / piccini

both years looking for outright victory, now looking for a finish this year...

i've followed the gt storms like a soccer fan follows his team since lm 95 and i guess things have moved on now, especially since Nic Springer took all his money, but its a real shame that black beauty is now merely an entrant as opposed to a genuine contender.

nevertheless, i'll still wear my storm shirt with pride at spa.

It seems Lister will not been seen as a regular in FIA GT after Spa.

COncentrating on the LMP.

Driver lineup for the RML Saleens has been announced on DSC, and there's a couple of surprises- Mike Newton's missing the race, so Chris Goodwin and Miguel Ramos join Tommy Erdos in #7.

#8 will be driven by Ray Mallock himself, sharing with son Michael, and Adam Wiseberg (director of sponsor AD Holdings, making his debut at this level, although he's done the Nurburgring 24 hrs in the past)

Is there any more news about the potential Care Racing entry? McRae/Biagi/Bouchut seemed to be the betting last time I checked.

Any hint of a fourth driver for the no 8 car, or will they just run no 7 with a 4-driver squad?

i am very excited about the RML entries. It will be interesting to see how #8 does. I wouldnt be surprised to see them in the top 6 at the end (and top 5 for the #7)
