So, Wallace Vickers & Nemechek (on qual speed) are added to the field.
Said, Allmendinger, Elliott & Marlin are done - right? |

I still can't my head round it all, but I enjoyed that. Got JV and Dario in the next one.

Great for the Furniture Row boys. First time they are allowed to race in the 500?
Brian Vickers qualified for the race. It didn't look good after his spin in the first part of the race. |

Well, he went two years without a win - if he wins on Sunday I think he becomes the first person to do the treble at Daytona (Shootout, Duel, 500).
You couldn't make it up! Allmendinger has an epic fail yet again. Reed was fantastically strong and Juan Pablo looked great for a while but he seemed to get loose towards the end. Terrific race, great drama. Roll on the second race! |

So, I predicted Vickers and Said for the first race. I was half right.
For this one, I say Carpentier and Jarrett. There are three or four I'd like to see make it from this race, but only two can. |

Franchitti, Barrett, McMurray, JV all in trouble.
JV is done. Looked like his error too, although there was little he could have done to save that. |

I'm no expert but that looked like Villeneuve's fault.

I would think that next year JV will save the car when that happens. Unfortunately it takes out a few cars especially Barrett who needs to race his way in.

Barrett was going really well as well. Villeneuve was looser than an Essex girl on a hen night throughout.
