For whatever reason the post didn't come through as intended. Rather than discuss why it hasn't come through please repost your completed design.

That outer loop would be a very nice track if long enough, like atleast 4 miles.

Well, we've done two. Perhaps for the third one we should use Sketchup?

i.e. We post a screenshot of what it looks like, as well as the Sketchup file, and the next person then puts in the next bit, offsets the line, and connects up any bits left over - (thats how I usually connect up new offset curves. )

What do we think? Anyone wanna start it?

Seems like an idea to me. I´ve started the last one so I´m hesitating.

It'll be interesting to see if this works as well.

I've started it with a Straight, curve and another straight.
Either straight can be lengthened to form a S/F straight or you might add another straight that's long enough.

At the moment the circuit direction has yet to be determined.

The dimensions are shown in the image, to indicate each new section please add the dimensions

Just for reference and before anyone adds to it, using the drawn line as a centre line the current track is 4,006m or 2.5 miles.

Ive bitten the bullet and downloaded sketchup.

Given what SBF said about the length i just looped the circuit up to its self with a nice pair of sweepers

Weren't quite sure how to do the screen shot so i left that off

EDIT: Image now Added.

BTW we can all agree on halving the measured distances and still hava a pretty formidable circuit, never mind the size it can be rescaled.

Maybe instead of shortcuts we add extensions to it and then scale it down.

Thanks luiggi and SBF for explaining how to and adding the image.

I will start using sketchup more over the summer.

So Mattt has completed the loop for a length of 4824m that's 3.015 miles.

So do we want to
  1. Leave it as is and move onto the next circuit
  2. Reduce the scale and continue on
  3. Add an Extension to make a long and short circuit
  4. Reduce scale/Enlarge the area, add a second circuit that combined would give an Enduro length

I'm for option 4. Let's make the area on which it is located say 35% smaller.

What about for this challenge next, creating corner sequences of 5-10 corners, and linking them together to create a "modern" Nordscheife (i.e. a very long track - 25km+), with a Club track (5km) also?

Ah yes, thats a good idea as these tend to be quite long anyways. Haven't got access to Sketchup at the mo, so unless someone beats me to it, I'm happy to start it off?
