I hear the timing man is a lttle concerned as well as he was commited to Winton and Sandown for that weekend, but he is contracted to V8SCA. But the earth shall move for Cochrane and V8SCA. I can tell you, I am not watching it on principle. |

So it begs the obvious question. What did Mr Fox agree to, that the boys at Benalla would not???? |

I am not sure what the percieved lack of strength of other categories has to do with their participation at this round? |

Mind you it's a AASA sanctioned event but that's not a major problem these days when you consider they ran the HQ 4 Hour under AASA and the Formula Vee Nationals under CAMS at the same race meeting at Winton last year. |

Support races would be good for the trackside spectators, but I get the feeling that the round is all about the TV. Seven paid loads of cash for the rights to telecast and might ask for their money back if they dont get something to put to air.
V8SC have already been paid for the cancelled round, so why don't they just hand that money over to C7 and not worry about racing at PI. |

Plus, no supports give the punters plenty of time to wander the free paddock...

Interesting noise around about sourcing officials for this event, with the other rounds on the same weekend.
The story allegedly goes that the promoter of the PI300 has been attempting to source officials, but appear unwilling to provide a similar stipend to the rate agreed at the 'first' Phillip Island V8Supercar event of the season. Seems strange that an event which is competing for talent with at least 2 other events on the same weekend would allegedly choose to try and lowball the officials groups simply because they can Doesnt make for good tidings with anyone concerned, well except the promoter's bottom line I suppose Presuming any of this actually happened |
