Group C at Brands Hatch with Superleague Jul31/Aug01

31st July/1st August is going to be some weekend at Brands Hatch.
Group C are back with Superleague in support (depending on your perspective)

http://www.groupcracing.com/events.htm

I was desperate to see the Group C cars at BH having missed them 2 or 3 years ago. Now I will see them at Le Man in June (on the Saturday before the race) and at Brands...

I've heard great reports about the Superleague cars - a great engine note by all accounts. I was a huge fan of the A1GP cars when they had the Zytec engine - the overrun on them was something different.

Great news for SF, I hope they will turn start to turn some profit very soon.
It sounds like an awesome weekend at Brands, loooots of V12s and V10s

It all sounds great, I just hope they are not being over ambitious considering the lack of finacial backing around at the moment.

Couldn't agree more. Think the whole package is coming on really well, really looking forward to Superleague at Brands! Should be a great replacement for A1 - just hope it doesn't go the same way in four years time. Really excited about the forthcoming SF season!

Just got back from Autosport International. Superleague have a stand there. Really friendly people manning it, very knowledgable about the car and happy to talk about it. Liverpols car was on display and they let my 4 year old car and Liverpool mad daughter sit in it.

Hope they keep that sort of level of accessability going as it's good for the sport in general. Looking forward to marshalling for them at Brands.

Hopefully this series can fill the space left by A1GP.

Anyone who attended Donnington last year would have seen how well a brazilian race would be supported, 6 Corinthians fans really brought a fantastic atmosphere to the place, 1000 corinithians fans would be amazing.

In my opinion the series will either go from strength to strength or fall the way of A1GP, either way it is a very exciting series at the minute

Unfortunately won't be going, for personal reasons, to either Silverstone or Brands, but for those who do, you're in for a good meeting. The last 2 at Donington were great fun.

Some very ambitious plan for 2011. Sounds like they want to go to Surfer's. And did Cosworth buy Menards UK Group? They are now listed under supporters. But I agree, the DP-09 is a great car and the sound they make is amazing. If they came to the States, I would just about go anywhere to see real open wheel raod racing.

SF seems to want to take over ex A1GP races.

The country’s deep passion for football and motor racing, not to mention its rich history and success in both sports, makes it the ideal host for South America’s inaugural Superleague Formula round.
Argentina could be too, but the economic policy doesn't help much.

Adelaide?

After a bit of hunting around, as there's no support info on the official site or Silverstone's, there's Dutch Supercar Challenge, Historic F1 Masters & World Sportscar Masters on the Silverstone bill. Should be a corker!! BTW, this is down to run on the old GP layout-FIA GT in May is the first scheduled meeting to use the new track but I suppose if it's ready, it may get used.

Adelaide's Cipsal round supporting V8 supercars would be awesome, amazing, stupendous etc.. but I think Sydney's new homebush street circuit supporting V8's could also be an option (may be more calender friendly).

The meeting will also feature Caterham Superlight R300s, FIA Superkarts and the SPEED Series (two 90mins races as opposed to the usual length races, plus the cars from the BESCR series). I would agree that it does look a good meeting.

Early March seems very calendar-friendly to me, Mak. The only sure thing is that SF authorities will choose big cities and seaside resorts.

Does anyone know who is driving what car and with what team?

With 5 weeks to go it seems a bit quiet to me, lots of press releases telling us about their big ambitions for the future but nothing confirming that anybody will be driving this season.

Maybe it's just me but i would have thought by now the focus should have been on who we have driving the cars in 5 weeks time at Silverstone not where the last race of the 2011 season is going to be!!!

Has anybody seen an announcement regarding the Sonangol sponsorship and how long has Robin Webb been involved with this series. The prize fund is fantastic, particularly in the present economic climate but Angola does have lots of oil
