Hunter-Reay and Conway got together sending Conway flipping and spinning into the catch fence. pretty awful looking wreck. debris everywhere.
Conway out of the car and apparently waved to the crowd. good news there. |

Ganasi Racing has won the Indy 500 and Daytona in the same year. 1st time ever for that...pretty cool and congrats to Dario and the CGR team.
pretty good race with a pretty wild finish. AND NO RAIN!!!

Best 500 in quite a few years. Good to see Dario win. Hope Mike is OK, scary crash there. Oh, and the officials should be reprimanded for giving out three totally unnecessary blocking penalties.

TV interviewed the medical boss... Mike is OK but "an orthopedic injury to his right leg." Sent to the hospital for treatment.

Check it out at the 11 second mark, the right rear tire punched through the catch fence. Fortunately it went under the grandstands.
There is an unconfirmed report that two fans received minor head injuries, one requiring some sewing. That result and Weezie's broken leg made this a pretty lucky incident. |
