Why? As long as Marrakech and a race in Asia (Macau is established as the final race in F1 really) is there, the World Championship name can be used - the requirement is to have races in three continents.

Hmm, I guess then the British F3 Championship could be a world event then too?

EDIT, scratch that, they can't I thought they did a round out of Europe, they don't.

I don't care if they can, my point is that they shouldn't. I'm disgusted by all these motorsport "world" and "intercontinental" tournaments with just three or even less races outside Europe.

That is plain branding. It's so obvious that the team race Hondas that dropping the word from the name doesn't affect them, whereas Petrobras gets a little more recognition by doing that.

Intergalos has got me interested again, provided the stewards don't start herassing everyone. Guandong has an interesting layout. Now hopefully Argentina can go onto the calendar for next year along with a round at Mexico City and Laguna Seca. Hopefully that might resuscitate the Honda bid for next year.

Interesting circuit in Guangdong? It consists of 2 straights connected by more or less a kartingtrack...
BTW I hope the marschalls during the WTCC-event will not be the locals. I saw a youtubeclip from the Pacific Formula BMW championship, and in that clip the where racing hard, without any yellows shown while there were cars stranded in the deep gravel a few feet away from the racingline.

A race in Malaysia, South Korea and Australia would do nicely.

Also why not Canada? I'd love to see a World Championship race at Circuit Mont-Tremblant.

That sounds a little biased.

Asia has no Spa.

Hmm, Brno is already on the schedule, I supposse the replacement either Red Bull Ring or Hungaro-Ring, there aren't that many quality tracks in "Central Europe", always depending on your definition of that term, though.

Other alternatives might be Salzburgring or Rijeka in Croatia.

Edit: There's a new track in Slovakia as well, and then there's Poznan in Poland, which looks really nice, but might lack the infrastructure... I didn't see any grandstands or pit-buildings in that video...

Why Central Europe? Circuit de Dakar Baobabs would be ideal replacement... would keep Africa in calendar.

After North-America was dropped in 2010 and Africa in 2011, the World championship is becoming more and more Eurasian championship...

Pathetic. During the winter they've already lost Buenos Aires, Interlagos and now Marrakech...

I would pray for Zandvoort.... if only the race there in 2007 hadn't been so boring. How about bringing France back to the calendar? Fits nice in terms of travel between Italy and the Czech Rep. and it has plenty of nice circuits suited to touringcars.

finally a positive thing for the wtcc!! marrakech is not a circuit its a place to demolite the cars.
if they wanna organize an event in africa why they dont think to kyalami???? as alternative i would propose spa (but as someone said is too long and this would mean just 8 laps for each race) otherwise i would propose le castellet (france) or nurburgring.

Travel costs, Kyalami would be another mega flyaway, Morocco is just the other side of the Med.
