I've heard rumours of Kimi going to Monster next year with Block, but both still with Fords. But if Kimi's goes back to F1 then why doesn't Monster do a tie up with Stobart, or if Ford drops BP, why not have Monster as the title sponser? Red Bull vs Monster. Then you could have Rockstar or Relentless with Mini.

I agree, though I especially love the wise arch Fiesta - in all its forms.

Sorry to say it, but the Mini is a monstrosity...

I'm sure Prodrive have a lot of bits in their part bins: but did they have to stick all of them to the car?!

The Mini will look better in tarmac spec with larger wheels and a less fussy livery.

Good to see the cars are down to 1200kg from 1230kg of current models and only have 5% less power.

I don't mind the Mini's looks too much. Its basically an estate so you have to have a fancy paint scheme and chavvy add-ons to draw attention away from its rather ungainly lines and length.

You know its strange how you get used to things. A lot of people hated the looks of the 6R4 when it came out - now its a design classic.

Anyone know if there are any plans for a 2wd production rally version or a one make 2wd class? I could see a lot of clubman being interested if there was...

You will see that only 3 times out of 13 next year (Spain, Germany and France).

Well, there has been a Super 1600 class since 2001, and the 2.0L kit cars prior to that. I disagree with your wish, but it has been heard indeed.

According to what I've read, FWD cars are much less interesting to watch on gravel than AWD, and viceversa on paved roads. And as I've written above, the WRC will have just three tarmac rallies versus seven point five in IRC.

The DS3 and the fiesta are class looking but the mini is awful, one of the worst looking cars i have seen. The colour scheme is terrible but even with a nice livery i still think it will still be a pig ugly car.

What happens next year to the current WRC cars, will they be running still in the hands of privateers which i'm guessing they can, how will they compare speed wise?

Same applies to the group B cars. I wonder if one could rent a Group B car somewhere in Jamaica

2011 World Rally Championship calendar:

February 13 - Sweden (snow; PWRC)
March 6 - Mexico (gravel; S2000)
March 27 - Portugal (gravel; PWRC)
April 17 - Jordan (gravel; S2000)
May 8 - Sardinia (TBA; S2000)
May 29 - Argentina (gravel; PWRC)
June 19 - Acropolis (gravel; S2000)
July 31 - Finland (gravel; S2000 / PWRC)
August 21 - Germany (asphalt; S2000)
September 11 - Australia (gravel; PWRC)
October 2 - Alsace (asphalt; S2000)
October 23 - Catalunya (asphalt; S2000 / PWRC)
November 13 - Wales (gravel; PWRC)

And/or if you prefer,

2011 Super 2000 World Rally Championship calendar:

March 6 - Mexico (gravel)
April 17 - Jordan (gravel)
May 8 - Sardinia (TBA)
June 19 - Acropolis (gravel)
July 31 - Finland (gravel; with PWRC)
August 21 - Germany (asphalt)
October 2 - Alsace (asphalt)
October 23 - Catalunya (asphalt; with PWRC)

2011 Production World Rally Championship calendar:

February 13 - Sweden (snow)
March 27 - Portugal (gravel)
May 29 - Argentina (gravel)
July 31 - Finland (gravel; with S2000)
September 11 - Australia (gravel)
October 23 - Catalunya (asphalt; with S2000)
November 13 - Wales (gravel)

In 2010, the SWRC and PWRC raced together 9 times, and the SWRC had an extra 10th race next to the JWRC. Four of them were far from Europe: Mexico, Jordan, New Zealand and Japan. That's a nice number for a world championship

In 2011, they have two races less, and just two far from Europe. It's yet another psudo-European world championship. At least the races were picked right: Mexico and Jordan the SWRC (Ford builds the Fiesta in Mexico), Argentina and Australia the PWRC (as usual). In addition, the PWRC doesn't race in Greece or Jordan, whereas they had two races in the region in 2008 and 2009 and one in 2010. I admit that not making the SWRC start in Sweden and finish in Britain like the WRC and PWRC is a mistake too.

Another issue is the three clashes between the SWRC and the IRC: Mexico / Alerces (both in Latin America!), Canarias / Jordan (not too bad, many would drop them anyway) and the plainly ridiculous Corsica / Sardinia metres within!!!
