They just like to shoot themselves in the foot. Just like with having the stream behind a paywall.

They are going the F1 route. And this transformation has happened very rapidly.

It shouldn't be too difficult to turn on the live timing and maybe set up a Periscope stream. And everybody would be praising them. Now this just leaves me with the impression that they don't really care. |

So much for slowing them down.
I know the effect will be more pronounced at LM but still, I would be very surprised if the fastest time this year isn't faster than last year's. |

Irony is that the session time is running on the live timing page. No car times.

lol what. This is a test with limited PR scope outside of core followers. Considering that session time is running is on the live timing page this is probably just typical technical incompetence/unpreparation, an ancient trait of ACO, but always blame FIA anyway.

If it's just speed traps rather than recorded top speed then Porsche could be off throttle recovering energy just before braking.

For reference Porsche also capped out at 338 kph last year, but in 99% of their laps the top speed was ~320kph |

Looks like last year Porshe ran similar aero package as Toyota this year and they were a lot faster. Overall it seams Porsche has nothing to worry about, but competition has a lot more room to perfect their cars only time will tell.

That's one thing I really love about LMP1 at the moment. These cars make their laptimes in very different ways, but are still closely matched.
That Audi/Porsche fight at Silverstone last year was the most epic fight between two drivers I've ever seen. The Audi passing in the corners, only to be passed again by the Porsche on the straights. And it went on for about an hour at that intensity, and remained interesting for the entire race. |
