Hollands biggest newspaper "de Telegraaf" also has Albers, Bakkerud and Jarvis today listed as drivers on one car for team Kolles.

I can't quite believe what I'm reading, but it would appear that we will have a 56 car entry this year!

A 56th garage is being constructed between the new block of garages towards pit exit, and the main block under the hospitality suites. In 2011, this garage will be used for a specific entry with particular requirements (there's speculation this may be reference to the electric Courage project). For this year, however, the garage will enable an additional entry for this year's race.

This article is on the back of an official ACO communication. The article is (in French) on Endurance-Info.com

It's not April 1st, is it?

It would appear that the second Spyker has been withdrawn. However, the ACO have Race Performance waiting in the wings with a full compliment of drivers (Pierre Bruneau, Marc Rostan and Ralph Meichtry), and a glance at the title of the article would suggest that they are expected to be confirmed as the 56th entrant.

Hmm I missed the withdrawal of the second Spyker, if that is the case.
Shame we could have Tim and Tom Coronel in the same paddock in Le Mans - spot the difference!

Brilliant news on three levels...
  • 56 car grids - the more the merrier in my book
  • Great to see a Radical in the race - no it won't win, but a nice varied addition to LMP2
  • Best of all, the commitment to devoting the 56th entry to something quirky in the future - goes to the heart of what LM should be all about

Binnie won P2 in '07 from those garages, Kolles had a 7th place last year... others, no idea.

Because of alcohol laws in France, Highcroft can't run with Patron sponsorship, so they've replaced the logos with the logo of the "Malaria No More" charity which has pretty heavy involvement from Brabs.

Is it one of the four chassis in the FIA GT1WC on lease or is it another car of the same specification?


Oh, and more importantly... is the team going to be controlled by someone from Reiter with a very large gun?

It is a new car.
However, detailed specs are uncertain.
The engine displacement is different from the FIA-GT1 spec car according to the entry list of ACO.
