A real shame if the team does fold, but is it just the Rebellion brand that is going?

There's nothing reported about the team folding, just the brand pulling out, but Bart is going to have to find new funding from somewhere. What of the links with Peugeot though?

In the article on DSC the focus was on Rebellion as a company deciding to go but didn't mention any of the team's plans. Could be that Bart has something planned already but isn't ready to talk about it in public. As far as Peugeot goes, I'd have to believe they can help secure a sponsor or two and that the program going ahead wasn't reliant on Rebellion money.

Well let us hope the team survives as they have shown the true spirit of racing over the years and certainly should continue in some form or another

This means that the team may very well be dead as far as Prototype racing, now that the Peugeot/Oreca deal fell though unless Oreca still wants a LMP1 Hypercar.

I think it's over completely after LM. So sad, I had big hopes for them and Peugeot.

It'd be interesting if the Peugeot defection to Ligier/Onroak was cause or effect of this.

In 2019/20 season news, though it took a lot longer than it should've, the ACO have released their decision on AF Corse's Shanghai appeal, and AF Corse's entry has been reinstated as Shanghai GTE-Pro winner.

Sebah Racing started renewing their dormant website minus direct Rebellion Racing branding sometime in the last few months. I don't expect them to run the R13 but there's no reason to believe the team is necessarily out of the Peugeot program or can't manage an LMP2 car somewhere.

If its just the Rebellion name then that's less of a blow, but we have to wait and see where this goes.

The sponsors come and go. The incertitude around the future of WEC and this awful season 2019/2020 did not help the cause. Sadly, I had put my dreams to bed long before they ever had the chance to get tired.

How often has this happened? the ACO reversing a decision that impacted a race winner?

First I've seen this happen in a while in ACO or IMSA sanctioned racing.

The WEC has a decision to make imo. Cetilar won’t race at Sebring, James Calado & David Heinemeier Hansson want the race cancelled. https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/cetilar-pulls-out-of-sebring-donates-costs-to-italian-hospitals/

The races will happen unless the US authorities impose rules that make it impossible. Cancelling wouldn't be a decision taken by IMSA or WEC, it would be something forced on them.

And stay tuned for more this evening, fearless leader will be addressing the US at 9pm EDT. It sounds like a national disaster declaration will be issued and extensive travel restrictions could be in place. That could make the decision about races for NASCAR/IMSA/WEC.

Sounds like it may not be a racing weekend at Sebring. Travel from Europe is DONE for 30 days to the US excluding the UK. Not sure what that means exactly but guessing no race

Unless the teams are already here it's not going to be pretty. I could see a very reduced field. If IMSA and FIA/ACO were smart I would see about combining both races ASAP to try to save the weekend with what teams and cars could race.

Some of Toyota are over here. The Japanese drivers, for instance, flew over this week. However there are still some at the factory with some flying Monday.
I suspect that will be the case for many. The cars and kit will probably be here from Texas, but not the people. I am, of course, available to drive. |

Well, the restriction takes effect Friday at midnight, so there's time for people to quick get over.
