Judd has had a 4.4 liter version of the DB LMP2 engine and the 5.5 AIM V10 (DB is sort of the AIM V10 with two cylinders removed) on offer for a while now, and Gibson tried to sell a fuel flow adapted 4.5 liter V8, but found no takers.
Those engines are making more sense since the LMP1 privateer regs are being loosened up in regards to fuel flow. |

Well lets hope they do as much research as possible before choosing a new power unit they need to improve the reliability if they want to keep running in LMP1 and wantto see them there

Sam Collins was also talking about those Japanese NRE engines in Super GT/Super Formula. They're something like 85kg putting out 700hp!

Kolles could try and buy the 3.0L engine V6 that Nissan used in their LMP1 cars, i read that Nissan was contemplating if they should sell the engines to LMP1 privateers.

Anyone know why the team have added a red vent on top of the front bodywork? It was there at points during the Nurburgring weekend as well.

That's a welcome surprise. Just hope the car resists the urge to burst into flames so we can a good idea of what Kubica can do in the car. |

I hope they put in Kubica first, otherwise he may not even get to drive the car.

I think he's making a joke about the Kolles reliability or lack of!
I've just read Dracone's Wikipedia page, he seems to be, er, very average? Last edited by maximus; 19 Nov 2016 at 23:16. |

I think someone like Maldonando would be a better choice at this point. At least he won something...

No, it's both the CLM reliability (which has been surprisingly good recently though) and Dracone's skill. Or lack of. He crashed into his own pitcrew in Indycar, for heaven's sake.

His pace was not there in the CLM test. Robert Kubica was able to turn two 1:47 lap times (best 1:47.2), which I presume was a mock qualifying run. Dracone's best time was a 1:50.7. Over 3 seconds slower than Robert. I think the car has more pace and most of the drivers are lacking. Their best lap during the race weekend was 1:47.5 during practice 2.
So Kubica who has never driven a prototype before, doesn't even have a correct seat fitting and has issues with his mobility was as fast, actually slightly faster than their regulars. He needs to get in the car for real and we'd see how good it actually is. |

I hope to see Kubica get a drive. He seems to have the pace.
Dracone might be there just for $$$ (unlikely 2nd car? even more unlikely without Rebellion now) |

Is Kolles gang testing its LMP1 or no need of preparations for 2017? No testing is a good start. A chance to live simply, earn people’s respect. Maybe become a LMP1 someone could love.

WEC has some fairly substantial testing restrictions, basically no one runs during December.
