This is a video from Le Mans 2015, it's in german, and it shows some details of the car as telemetry (you can see the engine aside), but more interesting is to see the back of the box.

Will this solve their reliability issues? As I remember, the engine was one of the only few strong points of the GTR LM Nismo. How will it work in a more conventional chassis?

I wonder if the Nissan engine deal also includes some Nissan backed drivers, like Mardenborough or Sir Chris Hoy?....... it would be great exposure fro Nissan with some named drivers?...

It would be great to have two cars this year to have some competition and to accommodate those drivers.

Great news for the lmp1 class. If they can improve as much as they feel then we won't be see them stuck with lmp2's. Sounds like they're improving on the car in weight. That was a big thing for them.

It seems strange to say this about Kolles, but (assuming that engine is reliable), they should be aiming for a podium at Le Mans this year.
They only need 2 factory cars to crash/retire etc. and going off recent years, that is entirely possible. Just imagine it! |

Just imagine Bart Hayden's face if that happens.

Bart needs the same thing for the factories, and then just kolles too.

But it's equally likely that Rebellion could overall podium in P2. 2 Factory cars retiring, and the Kolles will schedule a good combustion incident in somewhere, and P2s could run for the podium.

but if the factory cars have 3 each which looks likely then 4 will have to drop out

I was thinking the same thing. A P2 on the podium is way more likely than the Kolles car in my opinion. Unless that new Nissan unit proves up to the task that is.....

Right now it doesn't look like Porsche will run 3 cars at any time this year. So if that's the case then Kolles is at or near top 5 if they're trouble free. I think the Nissan engine is a lot better kit than the AER and iirc, that had no issues in the GTR LMP.

I agree the Le Mans podium is not ridiculous, but unfortunately this privateer LMP1 probably is.

For a podium they'd have to actually beat the LMP2 grid. I don't see that happening, either on pace or reliability.

I don't know about being on the podium, but I think they will eventually be faster than lmp2.

The Nissan engine is apparently working for them. This was their best so far IMHO
