Does it or will have anything about the Thundersports' involvement at the 1986 Birmingham Superprix?

If so then I might be interested to purchase a copy.

That's Thundersports - ie: a "Run What Ya Brung sort of Sportscar series" for anything that could be considered a sportscar, including Gp.C stuff, Can-Am/Interserie cars, and others.. Not quite Thundersaloons....

Raucous stuff though!!

What season does it cover; is it just '89 or more?

I believe it covers the whole output of Rolling Thunder. The last issue on the CD is number 21, which is dated May/June 1992. And yes, it is well worth getting for anyone interested in the class!

It starts in '89 and finishes in '92 season. There are several articles on earlier races including the first one back in '85.

Agreed, absolutely fantastic.

Thanks Gary, for putting this together, and all original contributors.

It seems there's a few of these re-emerging.

Stars and Stripes has been up for sale, the 309 still looks alive and well, an Empress Cossie might come back out, Rob has Harry, the Prelude is still around, the Bristow Sierra is still racing, as is Tony Davies Firenza, and the Mintons have the Escort back.

What are we missing? Any of the Starlets, Fiestas, Astras or other Mantas about? What happened to the Legend, any of the other Sierras (Black Thunder is up North somewhere, isn't it?), the Supras, RX7, the Senator or the Carlton (assume Pete Stevens still has it)?

Maybe we need a section in Motorsport History, like the Special Saloons have!

What others do you have? Are they ex-Thundersaloons?

I reckon this is the Paul McMillan car, not Morris Brothers.

I've started putting the bare bones of a "register" together, pulling all of the research from this thread, and others, Rolling Thunder, and anything else I can find.

The Honda Prelude has now gone to Guernsey. I think Robin Hooker's Escort ended up in Australia. The "black thunder" Sierra is indeed racing in the NW sports/saloons but is now very heavily modified, I believe the engine is now in the back.

Right, I've read back through the whole thread, and distilled the info into segments on each car (except the non-Swayland Starlets, which will take a bit more work). I'm hoping to augment this with info from other sources, and Rolling Thunder, to create a history for as many cars a possible.

Some have just vanished, but a lot are alive in some form or other, even if they need a bit of investigating!

For example - http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/970357.htm

Claims to be an Andy Rouse RS500, and a Thundersaloon.

Previously seen here - http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showth...=thundersaloon

Claims it's the Quaife / Hathaway car - which it doesn't appear to be.

I did find someone claiming to own it in the past, when it was a metallic grey / silver, but no further info on origin. It looks the real deal.... but is it?

In '85? No Starlets listed.

While reading through RT I've just found reference to Quaife / Hathaway sharing Hathaway's Group A car while the 4x4 was readied from Rod's shell. So maybe the above wasn't as far off as I thought.....

Does anyone know where the Powles Sierra came from or went to?

Thanks for the RT CD Gary, a good read - still ploughing through it.

The idea of a Thundersaloon register is good.

One of my mates has the original Pilbeam built Bill Shepherd Calibra, Ric Wood has the "Mk2" version.

As Rod said, Black Thunder has been drastically modified, and is owned by Michael Blomfield and can be seen here:

I'm waiting for one of the heads to be repaired (have sent it away) and should have the Belmont back on track sometime in May (work permitting)
