Looks like LAA managed to get to 70% by about 1 lap if my calculations are correct. Lucky as can be. 0.707.

Does anyone know which chassis numbers were which for the Lola AM's? They seem to swap them around from race to race.
I also need their chassis numbers from the Algarve race. |

Late to the party as usual but there just isn’t enough hours in the day for me these days. By the time I get to sit down to watch something, it’s gone midnight already. It’s not really a good idea to try and watch a race at that time of night when you have to be up by six the next morning.
Anyway, Nurburgring 1000 km of 2009, pretty damn good race, absolutely full of incident for the most part. Despite Eurosport’s letterbox picture, I was quite grateful for the two hours and 45 minutes or so of coverage. JCB’s pace after his earlier non-televised spin was incredible; muscling his way past Meyrick like that. I was absolutely gutted when the gearbox packed up. I have a soft spot for Pescarolo sport. I’ve always thought this year’s Pescarolo is just as quick as the other powder blue cars commentators tend to wax lyrical about (well done them though, a 1-2-3 is no mean feat). If I was gutted for Pescarolo and Strakka, I was heartbroken for Speedy Sebah, the cars look so beautiful but what has the team got to do to finish a race? They must be tearing their hair out. Is there something fundamentally not right with the systems installation on the cars? They’ve probably stripped the things to the naked chassis to get to the bottom of their problems. RML must be exasperated by their season. Negative points must be such a kick in the…. Perhaps it hasn’t been the fuel all along. There is something else at play. I hear this year’s Mazda powerplant is some 20 or so kilograms lighter than last and is a really compact unit. To my tiny mind, that probably means the tolerances (in all sense of the word) are extremely fine on that powerplant. Can you really have such a leap in design and performance without compromising elsewhere? Beltoise must have thought he was at Pau in a WTCC race, that was such a blatant push on the Spyker. Unwarranted and unwanted in this sport. He is above that sort of driving surely? Equally, Mailleux is far better than that. Quifel ASM/Amaral/Pla and Dunlop were absolutely imperious. Some stunning laps times. I bet Drayson racing are counting the days till they don’t have to run the Vantage anymore. What a troubled project. Others who impressed; Stuart Hall, Chris Buncombe, Nick Laventis, Leo Mansell, Hankook etc. Kolles are also on the up and up. Silverstone should be interesting. |

Does anyone know if the Judd engine will give the Lola a distinct model designation (ala B09/86 for the Dyson Mazdas)? |

B09/86 is the designation for the P2 Lola Coupe, B09/60 is the designation for the P1 Lola Coupe, engine has no baring on the chasis designation.

That is incorrect. The P-1 coupe chassis is a 60 series, the P-2 coupe chassis is an 80 series. The B09/86 that you give as an example is a Mazda powered P-2 chassis, the 6 indicating it was built as a Mazda engined chassis. P-1 is BXX/6X and P-2 is a BXX/8X, the first 2 Xs indicate build year of chassis and the 3rd X is the indicator for what engine the chassis was built for. The third X only comes into play when there is a variance in the standard 60 or 80 series chassis to accommodate the power plant. L.P. |

The P1 coupe is B(Year Made)/6X and similarly, the X could change depending on which engine is installed. If Drayson follows the same direction as Charouz, with their first Lola Judd (B07/17), their car should be a B09/67. |

In essence, that's correct, but I understand that RML (for example) have been authorised by Lola to call their coupé a B09/86 if they should so wish, since it includes the full 2009 aero and upgrade package, even though the chassis itself is a 2008 unit, having first appeared as the MG EX265C at Silverstone last year. As a result you'll sometimes see it referred to as a B08/80, a B08/86, or even a B09/86. Doesn't make life easy.
