AMEN!!!!!! It is my ONLY regret about this new Series.... I feel like I'm caught in Purgatory knowing that this great event is happening at Monze this weekend, but when I turn on SpeedChannel...the "Racing Channel"...all I'm going to see is NASCAR re-runs, ARCA races, or Hooters Series minor league Stock Cars on short ovals trading paint..... wait.... (one more for good measure!) |

...and yet there was much nashing of teeth that they only got 1 LeMans entry to start with ?? I can completely understand the ACO if RfH weren't going to stump up and support the LMES series. On a wider topic though, if Dome are going to build a new LMP1, who is going to buy it (if Jan can't afford to do a series with the car he has got) ? |

Why they are able to race at LM with 2 cars and not racing in LMES? Because LM gives a lott more publicity with result it's easier to get sponsors. I think their Dutch sponsors are less interested in LMES because it's not showed on Dutch TV or Eurosport. Quote:

Just a stupid question....
What is the speed revealed on the board? All the lmps seem to have 301 kph or 310..... What is this? From where is it taken? |

Hmm. Whats with the GTS cars? At the moment they are way off of the pace that the FIA GT cars managed at Monza earlier this year, as Jag pointed out. And its not as if the teams are any lower in quality really, people like Vitaphone who qualifed 3rd for FIA GT should be doing 1:44's at least, apart from a couple of minor differnces FIA GT GT cars and LMES GTS cars are identical.

Saleen, I think there are a number of reasons. First the obvious smaller wing and smaller restrictor (which does not affect the Corvette as much as the cars have been heavily developed to gain back lost downforce, and of course the C5-R engine is much stronger than the Saleen at this time).
Secondly a number of teams, such as Audi did not run qualifiers, maybe the same for most other teams. Thirdly there has been very limited track time, and the time on track has been affected by very heavy traffic, damp conditions and oil on the track. Most teams seem say they could have gone quicker, but were delayed for whatever reason on track. |

Wallace and Brabham did not run in the Zytek either, and Barbossa had one abandoned lap in the Dallara. Both car, IMO could have gone at least a second quicker.
The fastest DBA lap was also affected by a car blocking the DBA on the start finish straight. BTW, a stunning performance from the NASAMX, which according to DSC was comfortbaly the quickest car on the straights. It was less than 4 seconds off pole and according to the team could have done a 1.39. Bodes well for the performance of the new generation cars. |

RollCentre leading Pescarolo ! There's some surprises here, and I can't wait to see what we'll have during the race ! The cars are significantly close to give an interresting start...
What is the expected weather ? |

Im glad to see that the Zytek cars are giving the Audis a run for thier money. A quick question about the Nasamax car. Its classified as a Nasamax DM139 Judd. Is it a completely new car that they built themselves?

I think the old Nasamax car was Reynard based, and the new one Dallara based...
