Perhaps, but there has been no confirmation via press release that it is actually coming. I still reckon the VIP car with Marcus Marshall will be a jet...

I guess the field is strong enough that if the TBA's were to be removed, the event would still be a strong one.

I presume we will have the new entry list on Thursday next week.... is there a cutoff in qualifying times for the 24hr? 115% of class pole or something?

" Any driver who's best time exceeds 115% of the best time with in their class and 130% of the overall fastest time will not be allowed to compete save for eceptional circumstanses accepted as such by the stewards"

With that many TBA's, is it worthwhile for anyone with a C5 licence to start ringing around?

I don't see why not as there must be some entrants getting desperate for drivers to compete for them but then it depends on what sort of price they're asking for the honour of driving their car in the race.

But if they are that unprepared so close to the event the chances ar eyou are buying a DNF If you have the bucks and want to do it properly then you are locked in a while ago. Bit like picking up the fat chick 15 minutes before closing time, and all yur mates see you in the taxi with her. |

David Brabham is apparantly driving the BE Racing/PHR prepared Ferrari 360GT. The other team drivers won the N-GT class in last weekends Le Mans 1000km. Provided it runs, i like the look of the Uwe Alzen/Jurgen Alzen Porsche as well. They have endurance experience, and sat on pole (albeit in a vastly different Porsche) for the Nurburgring 24 Hours this year) |

I'm finding it hard to pick one winner, i reckon there are quite a few who would have to be considered a real chance.

Lets hpoe that GRM don't bring the same Black Cat to the races they have been all year or it may as well be a TVR Tuscan.
I note that the "youth policy" didn't get a look in. |

I suppose they've gone mainly for experience although in saying that Kelly's not exactly a pensioner.

But you would think that Holden would have been keen to have the two young guns gain more experience in preperation for an all out assault on the championship in 2004.Well at least back up the lead drivers in there respective teams.

I'd assume Holden have gone with the team that they think has the best chance of winning the 24 hour, after all that's why they're going to Bathurst.

I was just looking at the latest version of the entry list at the Procar site & noticed that Brad Jones is now listed in the BMW instead of Neil Crompton, i wonder if Channel 10 pulled him from the race because it was to be shown on another network.

An interesting press release:
SAE Bathurst Preview 15/11/2003: And the scribe said to thee – “Spread the word” for atop the Holy Mount this month there will be staged a battle that will shake the very foundations of Heaven. Sir David Searle, commander of the Bavarian 2 Litre Brigade will pitch himself and his merry band of four against the evil might of The General and his duel “Goliath” weapons of automotive apocalypse. This time there will be no stones and no slingshots, no quarter given and none asked. Twill be an exhausting struggle of man and machine and he who descends the mountain cometh the hour shall have glory foisted upon them as never before. Sir David’s band of helmeted warriors, Yoong, Searle, Full and Gurr face not only men but no less than an racing god himself brought back to earth to help the General smite those who oppose his rule. Tis a long and threatening journey these men shall make many, many times - facing the daunting Elbow of Forests, The Corner of Hell and the feared Straight of Conrods. Many a challenger who may be more flight of feet shall appear and compete - but fear not – for they shall not complete. Our band of hero’s resplendent in flameproof battle dress shall endure, they shall excel and cometh the chime of the clock they shall stand triumphant at the foot of the Mountain over the silent, smoking chassis of the slain! Trophies and beverage in hand they shall bask on the Holy Balcony – warming in the sun and reflecting in their glory. And all shall rise as one and heil the new Lords of the mountain! Its certainly different |

That's a press release out of the ordinary, beats the usual boring releases.
