I've always counted my marshalling days abroad (Nurburgring, Zandvoort, Dubai, Le Mans and Mondello Park) when volunteering in the past and its never been questioned.

I downloaded the form from the BMMC website. I've not had an invite from Silverstone marshal team yet but I'm still a trainee on their database (until I get my new licence through).

It's all filled out & ready to post-I just need to earn some brownie points with my wife as I've just put my name down for the Nurburgring 24hours, which is another long weekend away

Just to clarify....you don't get an invitation at this stage. The volunteering forms are available from the Clubs. Most clubs will send them to their members but it doesn't matter whether you get sent one or if you download it from their website.

You complete the volunteering form, that goes to your primary club for sign off (so the club you are a member of or the club you usually marshal for), this is to check that you have sufficient days listed etc.

The forms then go to IMSA and go before the selection committee usually in January. They say yea or nay to individuals and THEN you get an invite.

You won't get an invite unless you've volunteered and you don't have to be invited to volunteer

Thanks for that-so I suppose sending the application form in is just to register interest & not a commitment. Gives me more time to earn brownie points then!

A Request for help

Ok, I am in the middle of filling in my GP Volunteering form, and I am struggling to find the MSA Permits given to some of the meetings I attended. I can't find the programmes for them, or any info on the organising club websites. I would be very very grateful if you folk could tell me what the MSA permit was for the following events (they are all Silverstone).

11.4.09 - BRSCC
09.05.09 - HSCC
17.05.09 - BARC
23.05.09 - BARC
04.07.09 - BARC (Renault World Series)

Hopefully someone out there has a programme from the day and can let me know.

The March BRSCC, May HSCC and first May BARC meeting would all have been National B. I'm not sure about the 2nd May BARC meeting but the Renault meeting would have had an International permit.

Thanks for the info everybody. I've nearly got all mine too. I'm assuming F2 is Int, but other than that, I'm missing 2 bits of info that I couldn't find here; organising clubs for Britcar, and Silverstone Classic. Can anybody help out?

I'm pretty sure that Britcar was a BRSCC event, hopefully someone will confirm. I know the Britcar 24hr (last year) was definitely BRSCC.
