Indeed - race is underway - has started behind the safety car

#5 Vette has stopped and completed it's first stop, so it's already 1 stop ahead of the pack

hmm, can anyone work out what JetAlliance are doing with the 33 car, I can't fathom why they didn't pit under safety car...

plan!

Robert Lechner didn't look chuffed, and understandably so - that incident wasnt his fault, at all.

Live Timing shows Ryan out in 3rd, lets see what it shows in a few laps once its properly sorted and we'll see if thats correct.

i'm not sure who'll be happier- Sara for winning, Gillet for doing very well, AF Corse for doing a great job to win GT2, or Ebimotors for finishing with 2 doors...

The Ferrari crash in corner 1 was really scary. Anyone knows what happened? Looked like he had no brakes at all, he hit the wall really hard. The entire grandstand went silent for a few minutes untill he got out of the car.

Not sure what happened to Porsche 99 as well, on the screen I thought that it only missed that chicane and was going to rejoin.

Anyway, it was fun. Except for the rain. That sucked big time. Besides the rain, me being a total n00b regarding GT and didn't really understanding what's happening there. Multi-series is too complicated for my innocent mind I suspect, but I'll try to read more about it.

Looked like the 99 got the turn wrong and was trying to avoid the wall on the inside. Unfortunately for him he clipped the wall with his right front, probably destroying the suspension.

When getting onto pitlane the car went straight again (no wonder with a damaged suspension).

at the ferrari incident at turn one in the background behind the concrete block looked like there was a marshall or photographer who was sent flying by the force of the impact. hope everyone was alright after that incident

I didn't see that and I was there. Granted, I had my eyes set on the car when I realised that he's not going to make the corner, but I didn't see anyone giving first aid to anyone else but the driver. So I guess everyone was OK.

A friend of mine spoke with a member of the Reiter team and the team and kox/menten were not amused by Mucke's action. It seems Mucke is making a lot of enemy's in a short time in endurance-land.

Nice race today, not at all boring and it was fairly unpredictable. I think I like the new 2 hour format more now too, looking forward to Monza now. Everyone remember 2005 with the top 6 or so cars glued together for the first hour? Great stuff. Could see some great slipstreaming once again.

I definitely like the 2 hour format, now if only they would ditch the 2nd mandatory pitstop so teams can go for a 1-stopper, then it would be perfect.

Kai has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Sounds like a mess of a race, should provide for some great racing when I can catch the broadcast though. Shame Collard/Malucelli have been penaltied (is that a word?) out of 2 possible wins this season, but hey, that's racing for ya...

According to DSC the grandstands were 50-60% full. I beleive the capacity for the track was around 70,000 so if the circuit was 60% full that would mean a crowd of around 38,000 by my estimatations. Not a bad figure, Silverstone had around 25,000 on race day I would think.

In the end I'm not really impressed with the track itself - a few of the marshalls were a bit woeful (see the Ben Collins incident, the Kessel 575 being waved back onto the track right into the Aston etc) and the track itself seemed to come apart a bit (GT3 Aston slammed the wall and the catch fencing fell off, the GT2 Ferrari slamming into and bodily moving a large chunk of barrier, knocking a few people over behind it...) - the GT3 class was utterly decimated by this place, dread to think what the price tag must be!

Romania would probably be better served building a proper track for the future.

The track was awesome and there was no tarmac breaking up that I saw, but it was wet for most of the weekend...

Collard got 1 min penalty because they gained a lap under safety car, when they should have had a red light at the end of pit lane, as the SC was coming past the start line. So that stop go was totally fare.

The crowd was very good for the FIA GT race, pretty much all the grandstands were packed that I could see on the parade lap, especially good for the bad conditions!

We had a good quali, P2 (P3 before Lieb got DQ for the team pushing the car to park ferme, rather then it driving...) but everyone lost out under the safety car to the AF Corse Ferrari, they some how made a very smart move and came from the back of the pack to 1 lap ahead of everyone!!!

We then got a drive through, for having more than 5 people in the pit lane, which was meant for another team and got dumped on us by accident We only have 5 mechanics in out whole team, and only 4 were on the car in the pit stop...

When Leo gave back over to me (and yes it was me from 55 min until the crash driving, my beacon did not register when leaving the pits!), we were P6 1 lap an 30 seconds behind the Ferrari.

I soon made it to P4 and was catching Lieb at 4 seconds a lap for 3rd. I caught the leading Ferrari and un lapped my self, just before he went into the pits. I was pushing really hard to make up for all the time we had lost, and was the fastest car over all on the track, faster then all GT1's and GT2's at that point in the race.

I came to lap the citation JMB Masarati and he did not make it easy for me, I was offline for the last sequence of corner into the round about and hit a puddle of water, locked the left front and by the time I got it sorted, I was going way too fast and had no chance to avoid the tyre wall. Real shame, because we were going to finish at least 2nd, if not winning the race, but you can't make mistakes on a street track, simple.

The Maserati got in the way as usual, but it was still my mistake. Hope for a better race at Monza.

So you virtually predicted the incident that put you out Sean, which was somehow ironic, and a great shame. Impressive stuff. Some of us knew that was you in the car by the speed.. we know when to ignore an incorrect caption!

Yes, one pit stop please.. do you agree Sean?
