First news from Retromobile

200 entries for Grid 6 alone!

Now you see the problem of the organisers to get a representative field and not just the fancy cars.

Must be like kiddies in a sweet shop!

No sign of recession dwindling numbers then?

We have a number of cars in and trying to be sensible with numbers.

Enough is enough.

Have four cars in G1 and then three others.

Do not think you should read to much into number of entries for LMC but lack of entries from other countries other than UK and France. Its not clashing with Woodgood this year and seems everyone has worked out just how good it is.

It may also be that people are considering quality rather than quantity this season?

The same with plateau 4. Twenty-five E types alone.....

My French co-driver thinks they have a real problem this year

18 GT 40's entered in G4.How many do you want?Certain of them will get in due to importance of driver and others on History ,Remainder take precedence with CER entry .Eight GT 40's,Eight E Types,Six 904's,etc accepted so a third of Grid vanished without the smaller and more unusual cars.Even G1 is covered which was always the easiest to get an entry for.Representative balance is needed for the spectical

It's going to be tough to get in and people are really pushing for remaining places.
Obviously Peter Autos usual customers will be first accepted and so they should be.

They have started to post rejections. I have just received one for my Porsch 914, reason given is too many of its kind entered. Sob...

At least I am in with my prewar Aston as per usual.
And my Lotus 11 seems to be still in the running.

Still very much based on a 'who you know'selection process, seem's to me that if you did the very first Classic, you remain on the list?

How do you work that out Terry as many of the established entrants have cars turned down ,even those with History?
Peter Auto's present customers have the edge on getting selected as you would expect but even that is not a guarentee.

It's a 1000 cars vieying for 384 places. You have a one in three chances of getting a place on the grid.

Peter Auto seem to be slow this month to select the next batch.
The last meeting was supposed to have been held on the 15th of Feb.
Now we have the 23rd and no new entry list posted yet on the website, I only look 10 to 15 times a day...

Nothing in the letterbox either.

Usually the list comes out at around the 19th of a respective month.

If you have not had a letter means you are still in with a chance! The last group selection is slowest as there are only about 20 places left for each grid so they have to be very careful.

I'll be there in Peter Neumark's Cooper-Jaguar which I will be sharing with CMC's Andrew Turvey.

John? What are the chances of having all the Talbots together this year, as at Silverstone? It would be nice to see them all again.

I see the British Saab is in, but I couldn't see the Swedish one. Ring a Ding-Dong!

Dutch Healey's

We are in! Driving two Healey's in Plateau 3. The original Sebring works car FAC 54 and our own Primrose Yellow 3000. Looking forward to thundering down Les Hunaudières with 258km/h in the dark! Great stuff.

See you there.

Thanks John, for the clarification. Shame Michael's not there, it would have been great to have all the team cars together again.

Jaap, I'm looking forward to seeing your yellow flying machine again.

Esper and I were talking about FAC last week Jaap, did a fair bit of work on that car, nothing major, so it was as it left the factory. Lovely car to play with, shame no-one took any photographs of it going through the 'S' bends just past Carters W/Shop whilst on its road test,no idea who the driver was though!
