Well, due to the massive torque, the Diesels seem to be more of a handful in wet conditions, I don't think it will make up for the speed difference though.

But the diesel engines are smaller than last year ( 3700 cc instead of 5500cc ) . So what's on the torque now. Is it so massive comparated with a judd 5000cc ( Pescarolo)?

Dream on - the team of drivers in the diesels are easily the best on the grid and whilst one or two may drop it generally they will cope better than the rest.

wet surfaces can catch out the most experienced drivers and proto types have always been harder to control in the wet than GT's as the maclaren proved

Not exactly warm mate. I'll be watching on the interweb and telly in the USA. Local temperature 92° F/33°C.

Temp at Le Mans should keep the cars a little cool.

How cold was it during the Le Mans Test Day??? Peugeot seemed to do really well in warm conditions at Spa and as a Peugeot fan this forecast kind of worries me.

I think it was rather chilly and interrupted by splashes of rain.

And yeah, considering relative pace at Spa on a hot race day, I'd also prefer a warm race to swing the balance ever so slightly towards the Pugs.

Weather Channel updated forecast for Le Mans, France is for some rain on Friday (30%) with no chance of rain on Saturday but some chances of light rain on Sunday (40%)! So we could have a wet finish. Could be interesting if it is close. Who skates better, Audi or Pug?

There was some rain during the first hours but it got quite warm after that... I actually got a sunburn because I didn't expect it to be as sunny as it was.

Today's update from the Weather Channel is only 20% chance of rain on Friday, no chance of rain on Saturday and still a 40% chance of light rain on Sunday.

Just to say, from a 'man on the spot', so to speak, it's very nice and sunny now, although not hot - the breeze is pleasantly cool. We had some very light rain on the outskirts of Le Mans at midday todaybut it's looking good right now.

We had quite a few angry looking clouds pass over last evening, but sensibly, none of them let loose on us! It was quite cold out at Arnage last night where we went for 1st qually, so pullover time, but not unpleasant at all. More of the same for tonight please!

A quick check of the Weather Channel forecast for Le Mans, France for the next few days shows a 30% chance of some showers today with a high of 65F (18C) and a low of 48F (9C), a 10% chance of rain on Saturday with partly cloudy skies with a high of 70F (21C) and a low of 49F (9C) and a mostly cloudy day for Sunday with about a 30% chance of light rain with a high of 69F (21C) and a low of 50F (10C). So rain should not be a major factor, but you never know. Good luck to all out there and have a great time!

the weather so far is ok .. you might need long sleeves in the morning and evenings but that's not so bad and you should be careful as when the sun gets out of the clouds it burns a bit

Thunder & lightning here in Dublin could possibly be on the way to Le Mans depending on the wind!
