Srrows cannot run without Cosworth blackbox - Niki has taken them.

Looks like we are down to a 20 car grid.

Lets remember the good old days of 1989, 40 cars going for 26 grid positions, great stuff.

In 1994 your average mid-field team was shelling out about $14million a year to run a team.

In 2002 the same teams are struggling on $40million a year.
(not including BAR who still sponge up $120million a year.

I think I found the problem with F1.

Perhaps the next set of rule changes from Lord Mosely should be a limit on spending and not a limit on testing, wings, tyres etc.

I think it costs more than $40 million these days to run a team. Surely!!

In may infact be £40million not sure. Any ways this is just to run the team for a year it does not include engine support.

BAR alone spend 120 million whilst Honda spend 150 million.

Arrows's estimated 40 million does not include Cosworth engines

Well, Niki reckons that Walkinshaw owed him US$4.7 million when he didn't pay for three races already. So I suppose that works out to US$25 million a year. Niki said Arrows get's the black boxes when he gets paid the 4.7 mill. I guess that Walkinshaw is running around trying to borrow 4.7 million dollars - maybe Paul Stoddart could give him a loan. Paul is flushed now - he just got 8 mill.

and it is not thought likely that the team bosses will all agree to it

I wrote on March 24, "My supposition:
Phoenix/Dart, is a temporary solution cobbled together to hold a space on the grid and in
the Concorde.
Mateschitz is behind this as he has taken his shares out of Sauber. In 2003, Renault will
supply engines, rebadged as Nissan or Infiniti. Renault is acting fast because they had
inside information that Peugeot wanted to rejoin the circus and this Phoenix team is an
elaborate blocking action. If they can claim the space, they can keep Peugeot out. TWR will
run the team, Arrows will be allowed to flounder as Walkinshaw leaves that debt-ridden mess behind.

2003: Red Bull Phoenix-Nissan, with Richard Antinucci as one of the drivers. It will be
marketed as an "American Team"

Mr. Stoddart must be breaking his @r5e laughing at this one! Now we know why Tom was keen to prevent the prost money going to Minardi - he needed it badly himself.

Goodbye & Good Riddance Tom. Just goes to show that nothing comes from bringing big business into F1 as investors - If you swim with sharks, etc......

If Uncle Tom can't pay for the Cossies, why doesn't he duck down to the DART/Phoenix factory, unbolt his 1999 spec TWR engines from the Prost AP04, and put them in the back of the Arrows, he'd be perfectly entitled to, not that he'd qualify.

Someone said that F1 team spents at least $40 millon per year... I think an average team must spent near $100-150 million per year! Arrows was the team with lesser budget this year and now are in this messly situation... Perhaps Bernie was right when said something like that there will be have two teams down at the end of this season?

Because they won't fit in a chassis built for Cossies.

Thats right , surley they would have to redesign the whole rear end of the chassis from the gearbox position to the engine mountings and so on just to the enigines to fit .

What's the betting Bernie appears with his cheque book at the last minute, to avoid having his 'show' spoilt by a depleted grid.

Leaving TW with yet another creditor to pay out of his 'sale'.

I can see that quite possibly happening . Bernie will bail them out on a tempoary basis.......

also , on another note...... Ive just spoke to a freind at the circuit and he said that the rumour being broadcast on Radio Silverstone this afternoon is that Tom Walkinshaw has bought a 40% stake in Jordan Grand Prix .

Rumours rumours rumours ???

Interesting, why can Radio Silverstone not broadcast over the internet, but as for Uncle Tom buying 40% of Jordan, I can not see that happening, for one reason, EJ will not sell his baby, he has spent to long building up the team.

WELL....not unless Tom was buying the shares that Eddie had already sold the other year . Tom might be buying out someone else rather than Eddie , but i have to agree , i cant see it happening either . But as they say , you never know if F1 as anythings possible .

Totally agree about Radio Silverstone , i wish they did broadcast over the net .
