The 2nd love of my life, thanks for asking!

I can get hold of a stock exhaust system to drop it down but the de-cat and other mods aren't easy to reverse. I'll give it a go and see if I can have a reading taken, I do need to get it on track more

if any of the oulton lads fancy this idea that we played with last year but didnt pull off i will be happy to try again. instead of killing our own cars we could get a car from somewere like trannys in wilsmlow, just down the road from oulton. in the last few weeks i have seen perfectly fine cars like primera gt's for about £100. only prob with them is daft things like the front lights are not working, so not a prob for a trackday. once we know dates if we can get a couple of us on board. a few quid will get a car and rent a trailer for a day or two so we can get it to the circuit and back! i have a great car for towiing it! if anything then goes wrong through the day you dont have to panic about what to explain to the other half about what you have done to the car! at the end of the day we can even sell it back to a scrappy and get some money back! any oulton guys fancy it, the more the merrier! pm me now and when we get dates we can sort out cash depending on numbers!

I have to say that this worries me a little! You have to remember the fact that the onus of responsibility (and therefore liability) when on a trackday is such that *you* and you only are responsible for any and all damage to your car; if someone else damages your car, it's repaired at *your* cost.

The thought of a non roadworthy car being hammered around the track with no responsibility makes me shudder.

Which means not road-legal, which means not allowed under the Ts&Cs of the day.

OOOooo you gotta bring that chunk of Lotus engineering up to Oulton, you'd find plenty of new best friends

and Paul, Andy means that in a "if you bend it" type of way, not meaning we'd drive like saxmax kids with no fear. We all value our internal organs and would like to keep them where they are!

If regs etc allow it and we can find a decent pony, then yeah i'm tempted with that idea rather than my 106, if only to save my brakes from glazing again

I was more worried about keeping my car looking like this:

so I don't go home looking like this:

An unfamiliar car, with unknown brakes and suspension being hammered round by a bunch of folks who don't have any emotional attachment to the car makes me mighty nervous!!

nope, you are right in your comment paul, thats why we go that place, most of the cars are fine and are tax impounds that are no longer claimed. if you ask the guys they tell you everything about them and some still have current mots and are absolutley fine.
belive me matey, after some of the incidents i have had doing trackdays i wouldnt even dream of being in an mot failure going round a track

Good spot! Your tarmac spotting skills are 100%! That was taken at the Club Lotus trackday this year.

Oulton Park Track Day 25 November

I don't know if you've seen this track day elsewhere on the Marshals Forum but I am giving you guys and girls half price - that is £50 for a full day on the International circuit; £25 additional driver.

If you PM me from the forum I will forward booking forms - this is a thank you for all those wet and windy days you've been on post this year!

And by the way - any Lotus particularly welcome!

just a quick question, my brother started marshaling at the very end of last season so only one meeting so far, he is continuing with this by getting his 2009 bmmc membership and going the training days at the start of the year. he would like to attend the track, possibly have a drive round. is this allowed or will i have to sign him on as a non - driving guest?

If he has done a days marshalling and is a member of BMMC at the time of the track day then I would assume he would be entitled to drive. As there are no dates as yet for this generous gesture, there is a good chance the training day could be before the track day. Best bet is wait untill the dates are released as the online registrations will up then and if the same applies this year as did last then msa numbers are required.

Well, if my car doesn't start playing nice very soon I will be able to offer a 1990 E34 M5 with 140,000 miles for the fire training day - it'll probably use less petrol as a training aid than as a commuter vehicle

I'm really hoping to do Cadwell in my 106 track car.

It's only had 2 outings this year so far (prescott hill climb and RAF Marham charity track day) so cadwell should be good...I can't wait to drive round cadwell doing something other than looking for my post lol

The track day on tuesday was superb! A huge thankyou to Sarah and John for running the day. It was fairly quiet which meant the track was more or less totally empty a lot of the afternoon. I clocked up 160 miles in the clio on track. Awesome!
I also had a day on friday with Practical Performance car magazine. It was very crowded and some really stupid antics ensued from some drivers in the morning session on a very icy track. Good fun though in the end.
