Ferrari felt that they would get a better idea of how the car was in comparison to last seasons car if they let Massa test it for the first couple of days.

Remember that this is Valencia they are testing at, which is more akin to Monaco than, for example, Malaysia. It's all second and third gear corners and short straights and doesn't really give you any idea of who has the best aero package.

Barcelona will be a truer test.

Fair point. It is a bit of a point-and-squirt track, isn't it.

Massa's time has stood for a while, but the others are closing in.....not that it particularly matters at this stage of the proceedings.

You can't draw alot from the times at this stage, but the Ferrari does look good...

I am enjoying Sauber's pace early on. I don't know what it means - I notice how we all keep reiterating this - but if it keeps up then it would be awesome to see de la Rosa and Kobayashi in the championship hunt!

Not a lot really, because the cars we see in Bahrain will not be anything like the spec they are now. Still, it's all very interesting.
