Is there actually nowhere to watch this session today..?
Also, it seems as though it will be Massa driving the Ferrari today, not Alonso (Source - Autosport). Selby |

Ferrari felt that they would get a better idea of how the car was in comparison to last seasons car if they let Massa test it for the first couple of days.

ferrari and sauber continue their good form (or they seem to be in good form...)
http://www.f1-direct.fr/live-essais-prives.php McLaren are doing long runs, it seems, and Hamilton times are good too |

Remember that this is Valencia they are testing at, which is more akin to Monaco than, for example, Malaysia. It's all second and third gear corners and short straights and doesn't really give you any idea of who has the best aero package.
Barcelona will be a truer test. Last edited by Marbot; 2 Feb 2010 at 14:25. |

Fair point. It is a bit of a point-and-squirt track, isn't it.
Saying that, there's a few of them on the F1 calendar. Selby |

yes, sure barcelona will be a truer aero test, but somehow every year teams do test here... They must be able to obtain good data, I guess...

It's not all about the aero, you need mechanical grip as well.

You can't draw alot from the times at this stage, but the Ferrari does look good...
Also if Sauber's car is as good as it has looks we could have a new Brawn GP... Kobayashi for WDC anyone? |

I am enjoying Sauber's pace early on. I don't know what it means - I notice how we all keep reiterating this - but if it keeps up then it would be awesome to see de la Rosa and Kobayashi in the championship hunt!
Kubica nailed a one minute 12 late on in the session to get amongst the quicker drivers on the day. What does it all mean?! Lol. |
