No all I'm trying to say is that they seem to have pretty good accelleration, which is usually not something you see on an over-ballasted car.
Maybe they did some modifications over the winter and can handle the weight better now?

You know what, I'll ask Daniel Keilwitz or Ernst Wöhr in three weeks time at the Sachsenring what they think about the current balance of performance...

Heres what Ernst Wöhr said last year...

"It looks like the organisers only took the brilliant performance of Christian and Daniel into account, and therefore took the whole Corvette brand in kin liability. I hope our two championship contenders will have two good races and will be able to clinch the title already this weekend.”

Right, but there was a new round of BoP tests at the beginning of this season, and pretty much everybody involved in GT3 has updated their cars over the winter, so last year's weight and restrictors might mean very little when applied to a 2011-spec Corvette.

Don't expect many updates from that project - or at least not from the group that announced it. ;-)

Woulda thought they'd publish an entry list sooner than 11 days before green flags, mind you there's already some idea of who'll be racing in Algarve next weekend!

Does ADAC use the FIA BoP measures to the letter itself? I've always had the impression that cars were sometimes strong in ADAC when they weren't in FIA-GT. The Corvette definitely looked good at Oschersleben, but not dominant by any means. The Alpina and Lambos seemed quicker, though as far as I can remember the B6S is particularly suited to the track, with a good run last year as well.

Yeah, the ADAC makes quite a point of sticking to the FIA rules/BoP... (unlike Belgium or the British series at times).

A bit off topic, but according to mr. Palttala the Ford GT3 has just received 100kg extra ballast from FIA - and am I to believe that this affects all of the SRO series? However, GT1's original homologated weight has been reduced to 1200kg. Fair play, right...

At this point all national champs look better than European GT3. Westbrook, Panis, Cox and lots of tallented young drivers in British, French and German series, and almost nobody famous in FIA GT3. And there's no BoP that can help with this.

Because FIA GT3's whole point for existing is to cater for the amateurs.

That won’t stop them from trying, the first of many, and many, and many more BoP changes for GT3…

Entry List for round 1 at Algarve:
http://gt3europe.com/results.php?eve...ion=Entry List

28 cars:

2 Prospeed 911s
Graff Racing (2), HEICO Racing (2), Gravity Charouz (2), and Paulo Pinheiro (1) with the Mercedes SLS AMG.
Need For Speed (2) and DB Motorsport (2) with the BMW Z4 GT3.
Sainteloc Racing (2), United Autosports (2), and Belgian Audi Club (2) have brought the Audi R8 LMS.
MTECH (2) and AF Corse (2) have the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Team LMP Motorsport has two Aston Martin DBRS9s.
Fischer Racing has brought 2 Ford GTs.
Only One Lamborghini Gallardo entered by Reiter.

However, with the driver quality of this compared to the Blancpain Endurance Series, ADAC Masters, VLN, British GT and even French GT I must admit Im slowly losing interest in this championship.

I remember the official FIA GT3 site streamed all the races live last year like they did/do for GT1. I would guess it will be the same for this year as they streamed the Blancpain race.

As am I, however it and the Blancpain series are the only ones with on-demand streaming and English commentary (that I know of anyway), so it leaves me with little other choice.

The lack of Corvettes doesn't help either, as it was my favorite of the GT3 cars that ran last year.

I will watch the Algarve race since I like that track and then decide how closely I follow the series after that.
