the Fox coverage is just the Sky UK version isn't it? The V8 coverage last year was totally seperate, hosted from a studio (Yates, Skaife & Ingall) with them taking the Channel 10 commentary of, from memory, Richard Craill & Jack Perkins.

The racing by was quite good today.
Perhaps helped by the changeable weather, but interesting new nonetheless. |

An 888 1-2-3 sounds ominous for the season.....

Really? Which part of it is funny?
I would be interested to read your thoughts if TCM or Formula 4 were to roll out something similar for future rounds. As has been mentioned V8SC tries to tell everyone they are the most professional sport in Australia, it even publicly criticizes journalists for their 'humour' and for not knowing about their events but then rolls out something like this? Do you see the irony and hypocrisy? |

Remind me again why isnt this round for points, Its very simple, because F1 wont let them. The irony and hypocrisy is the posters who accept in F1 what they insult v8 supercars for |

Is the second T8 owned podium an ominous sign for the rest or the paddock ?

They're all playing nice at the moment. The interest at 888 will be if the gloves need to come off later in the year when the pressure for points comes into it. |

V8 race I saw today was cracking. F1 quali was exciting until Q3 then just fizzed totally.

FOR ALL the debate about whether the V8s should race for points or not at the Australian Grand Prix and whether teams are trying, the same rules still apply.
Unfortunately for Jamie Whincup, that memo slipped past his desk. The six-time V8 Supercar champ was so pumped with his victory ahead of two Triple Eight teammate, he celebrated with a burnout. Despite his positive show of feelings at the end of a race he received no points for, he was handed a $3,000 fine by the stewards for breaching the ‘End of Race Procedures – No burnouts’ law. So as well as heading back to the hotel with a lighter wallet and zero championship points for his efforts, you have to wonder whether this affair was a bit pointless in more ways than one. The world’s gone a bit mad when a driver is punished for doing his part to help a cause. Last edited by Reload; 19 Mar 2016 at 09:49. |

As been highlighted - that kind of childish behaviour doesn't reflect well on an organisation that is trying pass itself off as professional So why do Carrera cup and Australian GT run championship rounds at the AGP? I think the old bernie doesn't let us is a bit weak - could it be that v8sa requirements don't fit in with the realities of the Australian formula 1 GP? Hasn't v8sc supported F1 races before in the Middle East - no issue there for Bernie? Last edited by D.R.T.; 19 Mar 2016 at 12:57. |
