Flat Out Farr should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
All cool with Jackie and I; saw a brief today, bout the usual current probs. Looks like I have to wait the full 5 years so that I can part company, without "you know who" throwing spanners in the works.
Barcelona was mega! Fantastic food, wine and a clean city. As soon as I can retire, I am out of the UK; and there are racing circuits in Spain, so could still enjoy the hobby!

When you do retire to spain, say hallo to John Dodds for me
Guess who has two pictures of the Escort and one background picture of the Fiesta in the TRC mag this month, must be getting famous.Still trying to whip up enthusiation to get the Escort and Fiesta ready for the season ahead, not using gasket paper any more, finding rice paper much easier.
See you all on the 21st.

In the event that none of you have looked at Rods website in the last ten minutes, be aware that there have been some minor date changes.

i know this might sound like a daft question, but have just been looking at the TRC regs and it says tyres are free unless in class E,does this mean you can use slicks?????????

yes use any tyre you like, slick, treaded, list 1A (although i cant see why anyone would want to ) list 1B.

i'm sure the regs your looking at are the old 2005 regs, so the class e tyre restriction wont apply to 2006, as the road going classes have been removed the 2006 class E is basically the 2005 class D but no multivalve engines allowed

Tyres are free choice on all exept road going, so slicks are good.

and as Graham has said, the road going classes have been removed, so that doesn't matter.

I would love to, but the budget aint there. We really do race on a budget, although some people may think otherwise. We are gonna loose some weight and play with tyres, gear+diff ratios and spring rates to get the times down. Engine work will have to wait until 2007/8 Until then its

Slightly off topic I know but has anyone got any idea when the Brands round is going to be televised? Earlier threads said that the cameras were there.

Best you take some pics of the underside of Mr Thurston's black beauty, and install V8. Fit, and forget. Nice Ford 351 Cleveland.....

Then yer troubles would begin, I knew a man who drag raced a Ford Maverick but would not run a Ford engine as too expenive and too much trouble, he always ran it with Chevy power.

You won't get a yank in between the inner wings as you will with a rover and the alloy rover is a hell of a lot lighter. The only down side is you can't get the same power. But then again how much do you need.Brands Indy in a formula saloons race in 50.9 in a 35 year old banger and all that turbo cossi'e power in the prelude and still only done a 50.4!!!!Guess I'II be using the down on power but cheaper to run escort again this year.

Who said anything about leaving the inner wings in place?
Use Can-Am style front suspension on a subframe.....just like....

Last year they were mostly around £180, more for a double header. More for Brands (because of the promotion by the circuit!!! ahem!)

Unless PPC are going to subsidise them in an effort to get cars out........

Rob.
