How about a corner called Marshals? Could always be the one nearest to the bar!

Does anyone know a "confirmed" first trackday date? Anglesey website says bookatrack on 18th May, but bookatrack site says 8th June....

OK, the die is cast, the licence application is in the post, and I have asked for regs for the first sprint at the new track, rekon with some serious lightening (take tow-ball off)the focus will muster a mighty 100bhp pr ton, untill I get in.....
Loved the old track, the new one looks great, all of them!

Just to clarify the orginal corner names, I am not certian were Douglas comes from but think it's form Douglas in the I-O-M not our(my) chief Marshal ( I will ask tonight).

As to the others School was unofficaly named Beths by those of us on the corner at the First bike meeting including my brother Tim and myself, Wirral 100 club, after Beth Magrian (sorry if it's spelt wrong) from Wrexham? who became our first casualty after falling and going in feet first breaking both ankles on the kerbs, yes there was kerbs then, Abbotts is named after Cliff Abbott from the Wirral 100 club, Radar from the Radar Domes there used to be there, moved to Yorkshire? And the Hairpin is named after a bent piece of wire used in ladies hair Hah Hah

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned "Foggy" anywhere as yet?
Does any one else think the GP layout looks like a skydiver???

There is an excellent write-up about the new track in the Feb edition of the BRSCC's Newsletter.

Excellent article. I've already volunteered for the first weekend there and I'm really looking forward to seeing the new layout first hand. Have really fond memories of the old one as I had been to a couple of sprint meetings some years ago. (Pre Marshalling)

The only downer now for me personally, is that our beloved B&B has closed and the owner buggered off to France.

Why is it a great racing driver should have a straight named after him?
Tom was best drifting round corners, the only thing he did on the straight was to be tragically killed.
Lets remember him for his cornering talent a suitable bend called Maldwyn's would be appropiate, its was Tom middle name!

Mark

It is the new 2.1 mile lone International GP circuit. This is the Longest one off the four that uses the whole lot. Can't wait roll on 25th testing only £175 for all day.

175 quid! - it used to be two-and-six for Anglesey testing. I guess they've got to make their investment back...

1997 £125, 1998 £125 .........2005 £125, 2006 £125, get the picture? Ten years and no price rises. Bargain.
Now compare the £175 for 2007 to the other circuits fees and you've still got a bit of a bargain.
So when we've had 80,000 plus testers through the gates, we will have got the £4 million plus back.

Greame
Look at general testing costs at other circuits even Mallory Half a day for £90. Oulton etc £140 half , £200 for full day.

Also remeber the circuit is more than double the old one at £125 so I think good value for money for such an Awesome looking track.
2.1 miles long with gradients , banked turns, hairpins, And what may be the fastest corner in the UK how can you not go ??????
