yes, i am 17, but my troll like attitude isnt the point. Perhaps my saying sebring wasnt historic was an uninformed grumpy mistake, but surely if people my age are being bored (and i am probably Britain's biggest under-18 sports car fan), then the sport is going to struggle to attract an audience soon or in the future. im sorry if i caused offence, and i obviously do need to think pre-typing, but it makes me angry when people say that america is the don- it isnt to people over here- the LMS is just as well supported by teams now, and id rather see that than a commercialised series, and Europeans wont come like Americans will.

I wonder, if Audi leaves, how well Intersport will be able to fight the Acuras and Porsches.

Still no entry list available yet. Speculation (I am starting a new rumor that ALMS is not happy about...) continues. But the Acura Sports Car Challange logo is put up on the IMSA web site
BTW, the AGR Acura made quite a lot of pitstops at the end of the race. The leading Audi was not any quicker than the ACO 1.5% rule in the last couple of hours. |

I was referring to them beating the R10 and the current IMSA regs. i knew about the zytek win at laguna seca and the other alms losses but hoping for the loss to both a porsche and an acura at st pete, or them actually holding to something and pullin out. Then we could see an improving P1 (possibly with appropriate tires) against some developed and fast P2s on a small tight track. And would I be wrong at guessing all classses quali times could be in a tight range? seems like even the GT2 cars can stay with the protos in the corners just no where near the straightaway speeds. all in all (with or without the whiners) i think this could be a great race and hoping it becomes a regular thing, could even be a cool night race as the "headliner" series

Audi has no other choice, they got to be there for testing until Le Mans, where they want to beat Pug

The whole Audi thing is still being debated because there is no mention of Audi in the pre-race media release or notes...there is usually always something there about Audi due to them being so high profile with the series...so that is not a good sign, or at least good issues management from the ALMS squad...

They used so much time to decide to go to ALMS, and when they made there choice the IMSA rules made it all Wrong. I think tah Audi will drive this weekend to se that they have cured all the problems from Sebring, and from that point, i don't know. Audi ultimate goal this year is to beat Pug at LM, nothing else matters |

I've moved a number of posts which were not strictly about St'Pete's across to this thread.
Let's keep this thread on topic from here on! Thank you Last edited by Bentley03; 27 Mar 2007 at 13:57. Reason: Can't spell...... |

I realize that politics is part of racing, but these last few years in the ALMS have been a little to F1 like for my taste in terms of the posturing. Let's just get on with the racing! |
