There's quite a bit of 80's/90's rallycross stuff on Flickr- I really must get round to scanning some of mine, (all Lydden and Brands starting at 1989). I might fire up the scanner at the weekend- watch this space!

Since 1980 Terry Maynard rallied in it,today he still owns the car.
It seems he restord it specialy for Goodwood

When I went to Maasmechalen this July I saw this Marcos trying to go round the track.

And like any sports car, it broke very quickly (2 laps it got in).

After it's first real race, the car is much more reliable, mechanical tough... it is still to low in revs to got some heavy power, but there is room for progression... the only disadvantage, is it's low-weight built...

pic by CUPIX, from www.ludohelven.be

(in the third heat, he ended up with that bumper onder the car after doing some graveltrap driving, damaging a hose of the cooling...)

Another rare bird that came up in another thread, the Citroen BX- Jean-Luc Paillier ran a couple of these in Europe- first going up against the RS500s and M3s in Division 1- (with a surprising amount of success as I remember...)

then didnt he have a 4x4 turbo BX before his Xantia (another unusual car!)?

Yep, JL Pailler won the 1993 ERC with a 500+bhp Citroën BX T16 4x4 sponsored by Acuvue and Surevue contact lenses.

I think O Connors car was pretty handy, very cool car. There was a pink one too driven by a lady but I cant rememebr her name!

Jensens was not that quick, but was aginst much quicker cars in Group A! Always understeered like that!

BX wise, I would imagine there were a few in France, Pailler was super quick in Div 1, amazing. Also was quick in BX in 92 agaionst Gp B cars at times

Thanks- I don't think I ever saw the Jane Pressick car- a pink SD1 isn't the kind of thing you'd forget in a hurry...

I'll dig out some pics of the O'Connor car at Lydden and Brands.

No picture, sorry, but rather a request for one. Does anyone know the identity of a Swedish driver rallycrossing a Ford Mustang 4x4 (3rd generation)? My brother mentioned this car having tried to be raced at Nisseringen, Denmark in about the mid-1990s. On the day the front axel was disconnected making it a two wheel drive only.

Someone(racer1) on a Belgian forum builds scale models of rallycross cars.

http://www.autoforum.be/showthread.p...48#post4348048

He is currently working on the 1985 Porsche 935 Biturbo 4x4 of Matti Alamäki.
He would like more pictures, and wants to know what color the inside of the car was.
Or even beter had photographs of the interior.
Can anyone help?

I thought it was that of Eivind Rosnes but this is apparently a Chevrolet Monza.
And Eivind is a Norwegian.

I’ve told Dominique already the other day that the inside of the 911 as well as the safety cage were in orange color, the two big air tubes for the turbochargers were yellow.

I guess that the original car was in this factory color: http://img4.motor-klassik.de/Porsche...e7e-232199.jpg

Yes, I definitely remember the Monza at Brands that year- a real beast of a car...

Watching the YouTube clip, Murray Walker's commentary described Eivind as 'one-legged'- IIRC he'd been injured in a race or rally shunt years before, and had to drive a car with an automatic gearbox.
As I remember the 'box in the Monza might have had drag racing origins (the commentary refers to it as a 2-speed) and gave the big car pretty spectacular performance off the startline...
