Wow a glowing endorsement for Judd there from Seb!
One thing that I was enjoying from Spa was the constant licks of flame from the Dome. Hopefully it will put on a nice show at LM, and not just in qualifying. |

Here Seb is saying the have massive problems with electrics. Basically its way to complex because the wiring was done for a car in the development stage. He would like to have new and very simple wiring for LM

I'll say it again , Le Mans is no place for that car as it now stands . A walking wounded even before it starts .
The days of sportscars is becoming numbered with this attitude . Its a race FFS , not a test track !!! |

Had an interesting comment today about the S102.5's wiring loom. It wasn't a criticism, just an observation. Apparently the car has instrument and sensors of every kind and shape imaginable taking data readings of (furthermore) everything imaginable. It's very much a "development" loom which isn't a problem in itself, but is when trouble shooting.

Am told the Dome harness weighs 28 lbs, the replacement...10 lbs. Lots of ultimately unnecessary bits on that Dome unit...

So are they fitting the replacement?

Hopefully the Spa experience, and the few weeks they've got, will allow them the freedom to turn it from the (admittedly pretty competitive) technology test bed it currently seems to be into something more focused for June. |

Seem to recall, and happy to be corrected on this, that Pescarolo had been told they weren't allowed to 'develop' the car initially - hence my comment. |

Dome can't do it on their own. Hiring Pescarolo only to not let him tinker with it won't help. Dome should have done that from the get-go.

Where was the time? Dome isn't requesting that Pescarolo not tinker with the car, the time scale doesn't allow it, and everyone involved is aware of that. In a perfect world the deal would have been cut last October and it would have allowed some time to evaluate the car and prepare for Le Mans. As it is, the deal was hatched in February giving them only 4 months to access the car and prepare for Le Mans, all while preparing their own cars for the WEC and designing a new car.

its a shame that most of the misguided comments regarding timing are made by people who have never worked in motorsport, most motorsport deals are put together way too late and the teams need to be given alot of credit just for making the race........once we had a works engine supply deal with Proton in the british touring car championship back in 2001/2, they turned up to our engine shop 3 months before the 1st race without any engines whatsoever, we designed, developed and delivered a full race engine in 3 months, it was a monumental effort typical of normal motorsport life, late nights, all nighters a plenty, by about ther 4th race we were on the podium and the engine was considered the fastest in the pit-lane........therefore give Dome and Pescarolo some credit just for turning up.

According Minoru Hayashi's tweet,
Dome S102.5 crashed at 300 km/h because of the tire burst. Driver is Okay. https://twitter.com/#!/dome_hayashi/...732610/photo/1 Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 19 May 2012 at 06:51. |

Wow, you can see the rear right tire is shredded. Was this an endurance test taking place?

It can be fixed.
But it is unclear whether it is fixable by LM test day. |

Urgh that is not a nice picture to see. So Henri could have zero cars at the test day potentially!
Really hope they get it fixed. As if there weren't going to be enough late nights in his factory. At least it's close by! |

Hopefully they can also identify the cause of the tyre letting go as, it goes without saying, you don't want that to happen going down the D338.
