Especially ones with such nice paint schemes! Would seem a strange choice to move to BMWs in the Z4s last year when the 650s will be in its first season.

Sorry to say but the McLaren GT3 project is really disappointing.

The Russian team that ran a McLaren has also switched to Mercedes for this same race. Losing two teams at once is quite the blow. There have been fewer McLarens each year since the 12C's introduction, so it has been disappointing.
Always fast over a single lap, and looks a class above most of its rivals, but for whatever reason, given how long it's been in competition, they haven't done enough on the reliability side. |

They actually have and we've seen them be far more reliable this year (in terms of issues that have appeared in previous seasons) than in the past but hey, paint them with the same brush! What else are generalisations good for?

Maybe Boutsen Ginion think BMW have a bigger parts bin. Given the amount of cars they seem to destroy.

Well, generalizations are what fans do on forums isn't it? And just look at the record from the 24hr races over the years (or just this year). Doesn't matter which specific component fails if the car doesn't finish. No one was surprised when they dropped out of N24 after dominating qualifying and they weren't counted among the favorites at Spa despite success in the shorter races, etc. Also, the 'disappointment' comes from the expectation people had for the McLaren name in terms of marquee wins and championships, look at how many teams signed up during the car's first full season. I love the 12C GT3 and am glad they're upping the game next year, but I'm not going to pretend it's been a huge success. |

It also hasn't been a huge failure like some people make it out to be!

What a pass that was! Although Mies didn't have to squeeze the McLaren that much.

2014 Blancpain Endurance Series
It's Mies in the car not Vanthoor!!!!!
Someone should tell the commentators that. The young guy is getting it but the older one keeps on saying that Vanthoor is in the car Kevin Estre putting pressure on Mies for the pass was pretty wild. I bet both teams were having kittens when he nearly lost it trying to pass on the first corner. |

Buncombe racing away from the rest, having a terrific stint in the lead.

With Nissan seemingly lining up every GT Academy winner and failure to test the new LMP1 you have to wonder whether Al Buncombe is going to be given a chance to prove himself?

It would be their loss if he wasn't given the chance at least. I know he's more of a GT specialist but no harm in giving him a try. |

It's dry now, let's watch those times tumble.
Barring accident, #1 wins the race and championship in Pro Cup. Edit - What was up with Armindo there? He looked genuinely ill getting out of the #10 TDS BMW Last edited by J Jay; 21 Sep 2014 at 15:21. |

A rather anti-climatic finale today, especially compared to last year's ending battle. Though there's always a feeling of inevitability with WRT.
