I'd consider mine a post that concerns both parties, since it concerns NZV8's losing a sponsor. Feel free to report it if it's off topic and I'm sure a mod could move it to the 2013 ST thread.

Well the NZV8's site are on the ball, they've taken the BNT logos off quick smart!

I notice that they aren't going to Hampton Downs now, so 5 rounds only including V8SC in April. Exactly why they have the TRS calendar and news up on that site is a little odd, other than it helps fill an empty void.

The MacKenzie Ford issue is going to kill this, isn't it? Because it means that it won't work in Falcon format, which means you won't be able to have your good ole Ford vs Holden rivalry.

So where do they go from here? Common sense should tell them to drop this one and look to tie in with the V8CC for 2014, but perhaps with a new engine package in the TL's? But when did common sense ever come into play...

BTW, what is the Toyota engine? Surely that must be DOHC?

Yea, 17 and counting, will definitely be taking a look at the NZGP this year. Should be good. Do you reckon Mitch Evans will compete in a couple of rounds?

I heard (rumour of course) that the toyota chassis had to be widened to accomodate the TRD donkey anyway. The toyotas will be running different suspension pick-up points than the Holdens & fords.

Happy to be corrected.

Can you confirm the aforementioned issues with the Ford?

what makes you think the BNT logos were removed in the last day or 2? and since when hasn't TRS been apart of the NZV8 site?

Only issue we have at this stage is that the Coyote that has shown up for the FG has a higher intake manifold than the donor motor that we were supplied with. This means we make a small adjustment with the engine mounts to get the engine sitting a bit lower, which we have plenty of room for.

Nick.

Nick, can you comment then on whether MacKenzie will be appearing in FG01 this summer?

They were up last time I looked.

And so what if the TRS has recently been part of the NZV8 website, my point is that it is not a Summer Series website (although that might not be a bad idea), it should be an NZV8 website with news and items of interest on all things NZV8 related.

My view on the reason they cover general news is because there has been so little coming out of the NZV8 camp. Years ago, when the site was good, there was so much NZV8 news and photo material that there was no need for anything else.

i'm pretty sure the true blue NZV8 fans have said right from the start.. they prefer to see the GM cars with GM engines.. Ford cars with Ford engines.. Toyota cars with Toyota engines.. etc, etc. don't recall anyone bragging about car/team numbers or stars or being on the ridges? lol my view certainly hasn't change.. so people can get over it if it upsets them

Cheers!

I presume that'll be a mod that's made to all chassis to maintain CoG parity?

So we are are on the countdown to the series the trs grid looks interesting what other classes are there and what entries are there. 2 weeks before the north island teams will be starting to pack up does anyone know if we will be able to see any cars testing on North Island tracks for the TLX class cars?

well that is some news. BNT are gone (maybe to be replaced by the interislander??) and are now with another series that i won't mention as this is the SS thread. Also some doubt on if the FG will even be ready in time.

What a joke of a series. Other than TRS of course, but the Gold Star championship for NZV8's is proving to not be much of a championship at all.

Can the last one to leave please turn out the lights, and put kitty out as well

From my under standing all the Cars they have built are different. These cars should fill the grid of the GT1s instead.

Would this lower the centre of gravity and give a performance enhancement?
