If Toyota stays out of trouble, at what point will the Audis have to start pushing to catch it?

General watching of the timing isn't inspiring confidence that Audi has what it takes to catch up. It seems Toyota's laps are generally a second or two quicker than any Audi.

Not necessarily; right now they're roughly 3-5 seconds off their best times each lap. They know on average speed it seems the Toyota is faster, so if they want to catch the Toyota, they're going to have to push harder than what they're at right now.

I think Audi will just keep getting the laps in and get through the
scheduled maintenance. 4 hours to go , the gloves come off. But then
again, trouble and rain changes anyones well thought out game plan.

I'd expect Audi will wait until 6-8 a.m. and then decide how to attack---double, triple,quadruple stints? Definitely they'd rather wait and see how the remaining Toyota gets through the night before risking their cars pushing hard.

Toyota seems to be pretty solid---an mechanical issue can come without warning, but Toyota seems pretty strong now. if the #7 is still going strong at dawn, Audi will have to decide whether to push with one or both cars, maybe out different cars on different tactical plans, and hope the Toyota breaks or one of the drivers bobbles.

Audi's greatest strength is its two cars---Toyota has one faster car. Audi has no reason to push for speed with so much time left in the race.

If Audi hold this positons to the end of the rece will be a really good result, no chance to win this year cause the 2mj election IMHO

I think at this point Audi is pretty much banking on the #7 getting in some sort of trouble. The odds of numbers work on their favor, the lap times don't.
