As long as they race at Sebring I'll be happy. I'm going to save some money for a trip to watch my first endurance race live there if so. That's why I hope it's coming. I have faith it will.

Sebring is most definitely worth a trip to see it all with your own eyes, WEC presence or not (but they'll be there in 2019, don't you worry).

Regarding the distance again, I thought one of the reasons for going to 12h/1500mil in the first place was to compensate for the lack of... Anything literally for half of the year. Both for the competitors and viewers. If there's just a single 6 hour race in the calendar within 6 and half month gap, it bodes for absolutely terrible balance. Even two 6 hour races in half a year is awful.
And if/when it reduces to 7 events for 19-20, 6 if which are 6 hour races span across 8-10 months, there isn't much of material for anyone. Even the little content there won't be able to be coherently structured in such a wide range... the olden days of LMS season of 5 events from April to September will seem rather comparatively packed and quiant then. Finally, the teams will want to have pre-LM running regardless of what championships looks like, and longer race was a way to help in that without organizing separate collective testing or whatever. This winter calendar thing have not been thought out properly... Surprise |

"The ten-strong LMP1 class sees the confirmation of Russian drivers Egor Orudzhev and Matevos Isaakyan alongside Stephane Sarrazin in the No. 17 SMP Racing BR Engineering BR1 AER, with the third driver for the No. 11 car of Mikhail Aleshin and Vitaly Petrov yet to be announced.
Second and third drivers for the pair of CEFC TRSM Racing Ginetta G60-LT-P1 Mecachrome entries, as well as the ByKolles ENSO CLM P1/01 NISMO, meanwhile, have also not yet been declared." Kanaan and Johnson in at Ford. A couple of other confirmations too. http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/3...es-for-6h-spa/ |

I suspect you are referring to the Prologue entry - where there will only be one Rebellion present - the first car is due for delivery just before the test

I just looked at it earlier today and it was for Spa. It must have been a typo or something on another site.

Interesting stuff, surely some weight will be dropped off from m8 as happened in IMSA.
Most valuable info are pressure boost of new vantage! Honestly I expected something like 1.6-1.7 for the whole rpm range, basically like 488, but it turns out to be very similiar to ford gt boost range..... torque release should be in the range of 600Nm. You know that drivers are used to quick up shift when driving a turbo car; rev limit is set at 7300rpm, but guess max power is achieved already at about 6500rpm. Giving an indicative max power value of 525hp: 520hp @ 6500rpm @ 1.42 = 575Nm torque peak should be between 4500-6000rpm according to that sheet 1.42 : 575 = 1.47 : x x = about 595Nm. Quite disappointing to me for a twin turbo 4L. |

Target time for combined 4 wheels and driver change in Pro is therefore 35 seconds. Anyone have an idea how long those things have been taking recently when done separately?

This is sh** : what the hell was the point of changing the pitstop rules and then impose minimum stop time ? If I remember well, those Beaumesnil and Neveu clowns specifically said that the change was made to "improve the show" and reduce pitstop times. Damn !

Under green flag running in the middle of a race, teams will be aiming for 35 second stops but they could easily short fill for tactical reasons. |

The same corny talking point in the IMSA threads. I didn't see anything bad about it during Sebring. I doubt it has any effect on the WEC races either.

My word, both LMP1 and LMP2 are stacked with talent (with the exception of Hedman but hey ho). Can't wait to see them all in action at Spa in just over a month
