So, first round at SMP announced with the full calendar due to be released tomorrow (Sunday).
They're working on a "park & view" option for SMP if they can get approval from government - kinda like them old days at Calder where the warmest seat in the house was in your own car along the back straight bank. |

That's the Renault one-make-series car (it's mid-engined and used to be made to look like a Megane before they went to the sportscar body), and the suggestion was a French-Japanese (i.e., Renault-Nissan) automaker had proposed a local one-make series.

Full calendar release here.
Worked out quite well that the only venue they visit twice is Mount Panorama - an ideal venue for it. |

Of course, it shouldn't be forgotten that the very first event run by Supercar Events was at Eastern Creek so it wasn't ALL about difficulties. |

So potentially the last two rounds might not have any TV coverage?

Park and view will still require some dunnies around the place, unless you have to bring your own pee bottle. And people being people, they won't control themselves. They'll get out wander around and then you need others to police them.
Can't see it happening myself. Leave it as TV only. |

No Jack65, with correct social distancing measures in place that should prevent any little Jamey’s, Shayne, Scotty, Brock, Braydon or Brandon arriving nine months later.

Calendar here:
Quote:
Very minimal staff will travel, ~7 staff per car, no team bosses, no media. Everyone will fly in on chartered flights and stay in a nominated accomodation, at least at the start. |

...nor a round at The Bend - Sam Shahin not happy. Of course, as Armco has rightly pointed out, not everywhere is getting a round (to be expected with a shorter calendar) and as SA has already had the Adelaide 500 (and not much crowd goes to The Bend so far) it feels like Mr Shahin is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Finishing the series in 2020 makes sense to me and then start again in 2021 - might still be another weird year then of course. Personally felt that going to The Bend for the 500 was a big mistake as long as Sandown still existed - hopefully the pre-Bathurst event stays at Sandown. |

Agree - when you spend a vast amount of money building something but are either misguided yourself or poorly advised by "experts" in regard to location, design, amenities and function so that the investment is turned into a white elephant, it is only a question of time before the realisation really hits home and the disappointment and anger start.

Reading that petulant rant I have to admit I don't particularly have more respect to Mr Shahin.
It's kinda more of a tantrum. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

I wonder if theres any truth that Shahin was offered a sprint round but wanted a two driver enduro, so Supercars told him to suit himself and gave him nothing?
