Look at Toyota at Le Mans one year, 3 cars started & the one left at the end was the all Japanese line up (who let's face it were not in the car because of talent alone) - they didn't win.

Katayama-Tsuchiya-Suzuki didnt win because Thomas Bsher did the dirty on them . If that race had run without that event , they would won it because at that time they were lapping at least 5 seconds quicker than Dalmas in the BMW ..... they were a brilliant squad in my opinion ? Plus they were pulled into the garage for a suspension check cuz they thought the Boutsen accident was caused by a suspension failure ..... which it wasnt !!! So , they would have won .

Your first point ..... take a look back a few years when Mario Andretti was in the Panoz with Brabham-Magnussan . He was the slow element in the car ..... i guess it works both ways .

Well if the times posted for next years races hold true we'll have some longer than last year. http://www.americanlemans.com/Schedule/SeasonSchedule.aspx
At least Road America and Belle Isle(Detroit) at 4hrs.
St. Petersburg is listed at 3hrs?

It also says that 7 of the 12 races will have tape delayed coverage. Whether that applies to us in Britain I don't know but dissapointing none the less.

That is 3 hours of TV coverage for a 2:45 min race.

Road America is a 500 mile race, which should take just under 4 hours

If you had noticed the other races are listed as 2:45 and St. Pete at 3:00!!

It is also listed as duration under the event banner not as time under the network banner.

An obvious choice.

Will Dyson use a 3th driver during 12 hours of Sebring? Perhaps Andy Lally?

That's not the "new" website at all. In fact it was registered years ago, and has been under construction for years also, I believe.

I dont think we will see the quad rotor being used , the new restrictions on noise decibels would almost certainly scupper that plan ? Would be great to hear a Mazda quad wailing down the Mulsanne again though .

I agree that the quad rotor is probably too noisy. More than anything I just want a serious effort from Mazda. Their first year I gave them a pass, but now it is time to really improve the car.

I'm kind of doubtful that we'll even see a rotary of any configuration in the Mazda.

As much as I'd pull for it, unless ACO decide to recognize "first gasoline powered P1" as a category, I don't see it happening.

possibly one of these courage LC70's in LMP1 with the cosworth turbo engine we are hearing so much about?

im just wondering the LC70 in its current guise with the same weight as the
R10 is faster than the pescarolo how fast is the LC70 going to be if they run it at the 860kg like the dyson lola's the thing will anhilate everything else probably even the peugeot 908's and definetely the audi R10

i think i was being silly though with an LMP1 he will probably be with one of the new teams in LMP2 with the acura honda 3.4 V8 engines my guess would be andretti green racing and their LC75 courage?

DJ,
I don't know if Petrol P1's are going to run at 860 next year or not in ALMS. Can someone confirm? As we have discussed in another thread, the R10 probably has more in hand over the 860kg p1s.

How about the Creation? They are running the Hybrid next year, have they firmed up a driver line up?
