Regarding the Viper, I'd just thought it was in G2 because the GTS-R's homologation had run out?
silverstone has a cloud system, as has every other motorsports venue in the world...
you can guarantee it will be wet at somepoint

The '97 FIA GT race started off as a beautiful day...................then the race was red flagged due to torrential rain and a flooded track!

Enough about the bloody weather already! I just dont want to get wet is all! Or frozen or even slightly damp for that matter! I'm really looking forward to the great sights and sounds of the GT's and especially the GT90 series, hopefully all behaving on the track but as last weekend was a Mansell fest for me at Donington, I'm hoping Dad wont pay me a visit at what ever post I'm placed at!

Many happy returns Minimangler, try not to get too drunk, GT cars hurt with a hangover!

hopefully, www.jakeyorath.co.uk (my website) should be running by then, so i can upload photos on site via laptop. stupid question, any wireless net at Silverstone?

and men and motors is available on freesat (sky freeview) but no longer freeview, and sky etc.
There is free wireless internet at Silverstone apparently. Just got my accreditation through today. Will be hosting the podcast from Silverstone hopefully.

I am a one man band over that weekend so wondering whether to get a hotel or camp like a sad loner ! ! !

I'd expect the Gillet Vertigo pair are a bit miffed - with a Viper out there, they've lost pretty much any chance of the Vertigo winning the G2 class.

No I think it's an age thing, in my case anyway.

I used to detest sportscar racing (other than the actual vehicles which are the best racing cars on the planet) because i've always been a bit of a sprint racing fan.

But i've gradually appreciated the finer things in life as time has passed!

The official provisional entry list for the GT90s is at:

http://www.gt90s-revival.com/docs/20...ist_(Prov).pdf

BTW, to whoever was asking, paddock access at Silverstone for the GTs has always been unlimited in the past. Obviously they baulk at you wandering THROUGH the garages and on to the pit lane (& you are likely to get get collared by a burly marshall).

The best viewing points (IMHO) are Hangar Straight from the bridge and the huge mound between Club and Abbey. About the closest you can get to the cars is probably just before Bridge Corner where the drivers head downhill and set-up to take the awesome right-hander at the compression.
