Good point sodemo. That's put my mind to rest and given 888 a good excuse to Vauxhall as to why they're not wiping the floor with these independent Beemers.

It's good to see no gap over a second anywhere in the field.

Only gaps over 2.5 tenths are for Plato, Chilton, Morrison and Leason.

Let's hope the racing is as close tomorrow.

Got back an hour or so ago, great to be back at a meeting again

Shedden's car looks great with the yellow flames, I like the new look of the 120d too - and more surprisingly, it sounds pretty good as well. It's no silent runner any more! Just a shame it's still a fair way off the pace

Really good to see some close times at the top of the sheets, Collard pulled out a blinder on his last qually lap. The best moment for me though was Hydey interviewing Plato before qually. Quote of the day...

I'm glad I'm out of that bloody diesel!

He did go on to say it was very quick, but not nice to drive at all. Obviously not too interested in WTCC with Seat then...

Probably just the fact it was a front wheel drive diesel, I bet a rear drive diesel would be a absolute bag of fun.

Did see that quote from Plato, doesn't surprise me the Leon TDi did seem a bit of a tricky beast to set up last year.

Jelley continuing where he left off last year and bulldozes both Sheds and Adam out of the race within 10 yards of the start. He's made some enemies of fans North of the border I don't doubt!

Indeed, shame about the ITV coverage though.

Such as Neal planting a move on Turkington...and cutting to Turks other half in the garage as it happens...then showing a replay twice and nearly missing out a lap.

and Louise bring an exclusive interview with Mike Jordan on Andy's retirement...only for Mike to say he didn't know why he stopped (erm, ask before putting a camera on him?).

Im sure I heard it, but according to Steve Ryder's driver introduction, Martyn Bell is running an Astra Coupe!

Yeah the coverage is pretty bad, but the commentary team make up for it.

It was a good race, good to see it so close. There's going to be a lot of different winners this year.

Tom Onslow-Cole on the grid talking to Louise....Vauxhall wanted him back but he couldn't find the budget. Volvo rumours connecting him confirmed, he hopes to get out with them in 2010.

Would be great to see TOC out next year in a Volvo.

Collard takes race 2! Good to see him back on the top step.

I think there needs to be some form of penalty handed out to Gio and possibly Collard after that race though. There was no need to push people off the track when overtaking. I'm not to sure about Collards move, since the racing line does move over on the track, and thats coming from a Turkington fan, but Gio was well out of order moving across to push Jelley off (who incidentally, is doing fantastically) and needs to be punished for that.
