N I Tram should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I gather John George (who raced for Mardi Gras in 2004) has bought Matt Neal's Integra, does anyone know which team will run it?

The one team I've heard little from regarding 2007 is Eurotech, any word there?

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Story in todays Autosport says they're keeping the Integra.

Well Rick Kelly is a V8 Supercar frontrunner. Rick Kerry, on the other hand, was the Kumho BMW Champion this year. One guess as to which one would be most likely to enter the BTCC...

Following the same route as Martyn Bell, then. Good to see more small teams, and also good to see more BMWs.

But why develop an own car if there are second hand 320i E46 cars available?

Is it a BMW 120i with parts (suspension, engine) of the 320si?

A 120i may well be better suited to British tracks, we know how well the 320i E46 has got on each time it's competed in the BTCC.

He has been the Kumho BMW series for the last four years, winning the last two championship. Prior to that he campainged a Ford Fiesta XR2 in Classic Group 1 for two years, with a best result of second in Class D. I'm unsure what series he competed in before that.

Rick Kerry has been posting on another forum over the last couple of days with more details of the project, and pics of the car in build- it's being built up from a BMW Motorsport kit, similar to the cars used in the VLN endurance series in Germany- and apparently there's a second, ex-VLN, car in the pipeline. Seems they're going to be diesels, like the VLN cars, which would explain why they've gone the 1-series route, rather than buying a secondhand E46....

Yep, it would suggest that they have attracted backing due to the fact of being the first diesel BTCC car. Bound to generate a lot of interest!

From what I've read to all is apparently going to be revealed within a couple of weeks.

So is this 1-series going to be built to BTC or Super2000 regs?

Also, my mate at Team Dynamics says that the decision on cars should be made very soon, maybe even today. The top dogs at Dynamics were due to talk to Alfa Romeo today although they have had contact with other teams.
One of the top dogs at Honda UK was at Silverstone with the team and was said to very more than just enthused about the series, and Dynamics, and has been trying to convince his seniors to back Dynamics as a factory team.
Dynamics currently has a new shape Civic shell stripped down at the workshop with the possibility of building that up to Super2000 regs. If the Honda thing doesn't happen the team may still build up the car and sell it on, probably to Team Synchro who are looking for a Super2000 car (Honda obvioulsy).

Hope thats enough to get some juices flowing.

As it's a new build it would be a very odd decision to make it BTC-spec. As for Dynamics/Honda, I'd love to see a racing version of the new Cvic, one of the most exciting-looking cars I've seen in a while.

I feel it will be a bit Leon-ish, but still better than I originally expected.

Can't recall if it's been mentioned in the thread yet but JAG/John George have acquired Neal's Integra.

So he has one and Richard Marsh has one? Be interesting to see how much it boosts their competitiveness.

It all depends on how the BTC-spec penalties work out. As long as we get a decent field of S2000 cars (at least 15, say), the other cars can only be seen as bonuses.

I was just on btcc.net and read a story confirming Chilton and Giovanardi will be back for VXR next year, although it seems to have been removed now Very strange, but I promise you it was there...

They've also stated it will be a two car team, as in 2006 they had to nominate two cars, previously I believe the two highest finishing cars scored points for the team championship.

So no Gavin Smith at VXR.
