That list looks more like it! The name most frequently connected with Hitech is Walter Grubmuller. Haven't I seen that name in another thread around here recently?

They may run a couple of Spanish drivers as well, but one of the two they had in Macau (Roldan Rodriguez) is doing GP2, I think. That's in the 'amazing but true' category.

Manor did test the Lola in December, but I think that was more to help out Lola than with a view to running them. I'd heard they will just have 2 cars.

For breaching the BF3 testing ban perchance?

Other Spanish guy is Maximo Cortes, third in Spanish F3 last year - in his rookie F3 season. Mario Moraes is definitely a strong possibility for Carlin.

What do we know about Sebastian Hohenthal for this season?

Ah ha!

Mind you that series is well competitive with a dozen or so people usually in with a shout of a win at some point, so his position's probably quite respectable?!

Alex Waters has not been out in a Performance car.

He ran national class with Promatecme for a bit last year.

He did quite well, too, straight out of Formula Ford. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back with Promatecme this season in what will be a much bigger National Class.

Let's wait and see shall we? There's often a difference between wanting to and being able to. Good for him, though, for trying a different approach to raising the money.

According to this week's Autosport, McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year, Oliver Turvey, is likely to run in the Championship Class with Team Loctite. The team has competed successfully in British F3 before, but only in the National Class.

Yes, that's the one. It's run by Trevor Powell. Oliver Turvey had an outing with them in the final Thruxton round of last season, driving a National Class car in the Invitation Class. He looked very competent, especially as he missed the pre-race test session and went straight into qualifying.

Maybe there could be a Lola on the grid after all then, assuming Promatecme still have the lola that Alex Kateeb ran in last year.

Doubt it, it was nowhere the top 10 in the BP Masters last year.

That doesn't mean its a bad car though.

I'm sure if you stuck a Di Resta or Vettell in one they would still be fighting for wins.

It just needs a top driver in it for a good length of time, but unfortunately thats unlikely to happen, as every driver wants the best, which ultimately will be percieved as whatever is winning at the time. Hence Carlins switch to the merc engine. They wont get anywere near the level of back up that Mugen give them, but it will help to get a better drive in the seat.

Anyway, Joey Foster missed the masters, who knows how he might have done...

I think the problem is that Promatecme's car is an '05 version and it would cost a lot to update it to '07 spec, more than if you were to do the same to a Dallara.

The problem the Lolas had at Zandvoort was to do with the engines. What was good enough to win in the German F3 Cup didn't cut the mustard when it came to International level.

I recon there will be an australian driver in 1 ADR car.

Maybe only one car team ?

Nothing is signed but I believe they are close.

A few weeks at most.
